You make a good point. Most of the best pop music in the world is available in places outside the USA and Europe where new genre's are still being invented. The problem with Europe and the USA is that the music business has a formula which shifts product and they are not changing it.
There was a point to "overproduced studio rock band dreck". You could choose to sit down and concentrate and enjoy listening to it. Most music is consumed as wallpaper these days and the last thing you need in it is anything that requires listening to.
Absolutely. And that is why Radio Caroline - a 1960's pirate radio station is doing rather well as an internet stream and as a local AM radio station in the UK. It features a lot of 70's album tracks. Hear the streams on this page http://www.radiocaroline.co.uk...
To be fair 'Gucci gang' has been sized upon as a hilarious meme which probably accounts for its popularity more than any musical merit.
'Graham the Christian' nee 'Cowbelly' for example just spent a couple of weeks reciting it a million times on his YouTube channel and raised over $10k for Rednoseday. The kids are not as stupid as the music business would have you believe.
There is a case to be made that each musical genre peak coincides with the drugs taken at the time. The UK rave and EDM scene was closely associated with MDMA and the hands in the air anthem. We live in the era of "lean" now which might go a long way to explain current pop music. I leave it as an exercise for the reader to identify and fill in the other drugs and musical genres from the last 60 odd years.
I note that Classic Shell has now gone into suspended animation but if you use it on windows then you would not even know about the changes. All my open source and necessary commercial software lives in the programs grouping and I would not even know what lives under the "Apps" group. Of course I have to live with the fact that Cortana and other software is leaking my every move to Microsoft and presumably the NSA, I can run other operating systems if I need complete privacy. It would be a great shame if we were to abandon the millions of man hours of work that has gone into creating software like Libre office or the independent software like Whatsapp that runs on Window and leave it to become what we dislike and distrust because of snowflakeism.
The Moneylenders in the temple say screw the libtard poor, I didn't get where I am today by not stepping on the faces of the cattle I despise so much. Evolution says the strongest survive and I am an animal, so death to the poor! Of course everyone hates me for my arrogance and arguably I am nothing to do with human civilisation but civilisation is for losers. Happy Christmas everyone!
You arrogant Americans deserve what is comming to you. The foreign trolls have scented the death about you, the kids on 4chan think that it would be fun to take down your society with a frog. Even if only the Russians have been definitively detected as trying to sow discord in your society your arrogance makes you a big fat complacent target for anyone who wishes you ill. Serves you right I say, eaten from the inside out by Facebook the pinnacle of democratic capitalism.
You seriously underestimate the power of propaganda now that social media can amplify it a millionfold. Have you never wondered why totalitarian societies have a tight grip on what information is transmitted through the internet? Let me give you a clue, they know that they can control their populations and you guys are about to find out what happens when your enemies control your population. Soon we will be buying buckets of popcorn and watching you turn your cities into piles of rubble like Syria. I am rather looking forward to Alex Jones'es armed inssurection when Trump finally gets called to acount for tax fraud or whatever Mueller manages to dig up on him.
Indeed. It would be the end of Kasperkey software if there was the slightest hint that they were colluding with the Russian state. As it would be for all of the American companies who obviously are compromised by the NSA. You jokers are all as bad as each other. Trump is a cretin.
Sadly it must be true that people are completely controlled by fear based hateful propaganda. Otherwise large portions of the population would not believe that exterminating or deporting Wogs / Latinos / BLM / Muslims would actualy improve the lives of anyone. They would have been repelled by Trumps silent support for Nazi's and voted for someone else. The thing is that politics is now completely controlled by emotional propaganda and that there is actually almost no difference between the Democrats and the Republicans except who you hate the most.
Actually no one believes the lie posited by you anonymous coward. We are well aware that the ISP's want some of the revenue from Google, Netflix et al and that Net Nutrality prevented them from taking it. It they do not take it the shareholders will sack their CEO's and put someone in who does. You would have to be some kind of cretin to not understand how capitalism works and that it will definitely cost the consumer more.
America has not been the land of the free ever since the cold war ended and there was no bad guy left to compare with. America is just another totalitarian state run by an elite with all the money.
The days of the internet as a global communications medium are probably numbered. Large chunks of it are already effectively disconnected like China and the Russians.
Net Nutrality has nothing whatsoever to do with censorship at the momment. All it means at the moment is that traffic could not be filtered and given different treatment by ISP's, in future it will be filtered and it could have different treatment.
The hilarious joke on the 'freedom murica' folks is that they have just campaigned for ISP's to be allowed to set up traffic filters that can differentiate traffic. The huge joke on them is that the one entity that will immediately make use of this will be the government agencies that want to look at peoples internet data - because there cannot be any future argument about it costing the ISP's anything because they will have already put the filters in place so that they can share google's and netflixes revenue streams. Ha Ha Ha! The NSA gets a free tap into your data you suckers. Nothing quite so funny has happened for ages! The right just voted for more government surveilance, it totally creases me up:-)
Most of the good stuff still has an RSS feed and gPodder will do a reasonable job of picking up what you ask for. I refuse to use iTunes or any other walled garden user exploitation sofware. Sadly the internet is dying, soon we will remember the old open internet the same way many people view the 60's as a golden age of "freedom". If it is only available on iTunes then don't subscribe to it.
It is interesting to reflect that we just lived through the Internet equivalent of the swinging sixities "where anything goes". Future generations will have Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Netflix and the MSM and that will be it for the Internet, all the rest, including this site will be history.
Fascinating how capitalism fucks everything just as assuredly as totalitarianism.
Anyone with a lot of software and hardware benefited from the ability to organise program shortcuts into folders. I have dozens of camera software links associated with different cameras for example. It helps being able to keep the Cannon raw file converter separate from the Sony one and to group both sets of software in their own folders. Of course modern users only need facebook and a full frontal lobotomy so won't be needing customiseable start menus. I expect I will have to create folders of shortcuts to replace this functionality once the cretins at Microsoft break Classic Shell. It was great having a full featured graphical user interface in Windows whilst it lasted but times change and the era of the general purpose computer for the public is drawing to a close. You can fcuk off if you think I am going to use an App on a smartphone to edit video. Cretins.
In Europe, formal futures markets appeared in the Dutch Republic during the 17th century. Among the most notable centered on the tulip market, at the height of Tulipmania. At the peak of tulip mania, in February 1637, some single tulip bulbs sold for more than 10 times the annual income of a skilled craftsworker. Enjoy your tulips tÃte de merde!
Actually all it proves is that the "Market" is a figment of the imagination of a bunch of crooks because it turns out that humans are not rational beings and in fact are completely irrational actors in the market. For example being completely conned by brand marketing (Apple) and buying children's toys at vastly inflated prices in the scam described here. Take your Austrian economists "Free Market" and shove it up your inhuman robotic backside. Humans R Us!
I am afraid that complaining that Musk is pandering to the public because they are cretinous animals is too little too late.
The rot set in around the time that the mobile phone, social media and reality TV arrived and now Mr and Mrs Moron think that they should be running civilization. And oddly enough when they all get together and vote they do run civilization. We are moving out of the enlightenment and back into the dark ages again. Nationalism and fascism, anti-science, religious extremism and the return of kings, oligarchs, billionaire noblemen and serfdom are upon us.
And you seriously think complaining about a guy selling his personal brand with a little showmanship is going to stop it all. Ha Ha Ha Ha I am so glad I am old and won't have to put up with much more of the twitterverse and its spawn.
On the other hand I do think the idea is hilarious even if Musk does treat his employees like shit.
Management who have just spent millions on an ERP system that does not do what they thought it did always need Excel analysis of the underlying data. Also ERP is the place the data should be but it is not usually great at analysis. Anyone who demands that Excel be banned from the organization is quite clearly an incompetent twat.
Regarding NoScript - I have tried uMatrix as a replacement and so far I like it better because it is easier to use having a reload button right there in the block popup. The only thing I am missing currently is a password exporter/importer so I can backup my passwords to a camera card. I imagine I will find a password manager that can do that at some point thought, there are plenty of those.
Release notes may not always indicate what bug fixes have actually been included. If you have an installed base you may not wish to signal an unpatched vulnerability in the field to the unscrupulous. You may also be somewhat vague about a fix that enables the product to achieve the specification which marketing claims the product already achieves. This is why product management generally has a say in what the developers may have listed in their release notes.
I still use a cassette tape player because I cannot be bothered to digitize the hundreds of tapes I made back in the day. The quality is good enough as the tapes are the best you could buy recorded on good machines. I agree though I am unlikely to record any new ones. It is quite fun to play back things like New Years Eve 1999 - 2000 occasionally or way back in the shrouds of history - the BRMB rock 100, Or the John Peel Christmas countdowns.
