ah, the Hollywood fantasy of the 50's....... There were broken homes then, there are broken homes now. There were bullies then, there are bullies now. I personally went through some sh*t in junior high (as we called it back in the late 60's). I had fantasies of killing bullies. I now have 4 teenagers, 1 boy, 3 girls. We had a situation with my son (now 19) in one of his classes, being physically picked on by bullies whenever the teacher stepped outside the room. My son got in trouble because he was on the floor a couple of times when the teacher came back in. We had a parent-teacher conference. I made it REAL CLEAR that he didn't have control of his class and he better get his sh*t together. We never had another problem.
The problem is (IMHO) that kids don't want to stir up any trouble, fearing that the problem with the bullies will only get worse. As in most situations, diplomacy is required. Don't go around telling the bullies that you'll get them in trouble. Just find an adult (parent/teacher/whatever) and let them help you figure out a way.
As I understand it, this gets the cooling action right down to the silicon. there is a lot of thermal resistance (physics anyone?) between the silicon and the package/outside world itself.
If you can pull the heat directly off of the silicon, the world becomes a happy place. And as the story points out, it would eliminate hot spots, a major source of failues in ICs.
nice talk, potty mouth.
I'm a huge "european football" or soccer fan. I've coached it for over 10 years. But I don't get all pissed-off about what it's called.
"-- even though Cisco's main products, Internet routers, suck voltage like steel mills. "
I keep seeing journalists publishing statistics about how much power the "internet" is consuming. Where Can I find some actual numbers?
Having worked in steel mills, I can't believe that all of the routers in California take as much power as an average mid-west steel mill.
And they suck current/power, not voltage.
Clinton did 2 great things for the US, at least the male population:
1. redefined what sex was
2. kept Congress so busy with his impeachment proceedings that they weren't able to pass any stupid laws.
Isn't there a higher risk of a postal worker going "postal"?
Maybe it's the uniforms that they wear.
real embedded appliances don't need no stinking universal operating systems.
But what is the microprocessor part number?

but that was Nixon's army (Ohio National Guard), but I think that it shows Kent State's attitude toward personal freedoms.
