I did some retrofit work on the propulsion electronics a few years ago. The system takes a lot of maintenance, but pays for itself.
It drives me crazy when my kids come home from school and have home work on energy sources: they NEVER discuss hydrogen.
Somebody did a report a few years ago about how many acres of solar cells would be required to generate enough hydrogen for the U.S.'s energy needs, based on current technology. It was about the size of Arizona. But so what?
This would certainly help us cut the cord with the middle-east. They're only using us for the money, anyway...........
The first thing that comes to my mind is how little protection pilots have. If a terrorist can't get to the cockpit, the plane can't be used in this manner. Yes, the plane might blow up (less likely because of existing security measures), but it won't cause the directed loss of life.
I think that we're going to see more security personel in the cockpit until we figure this thing out.
When sending large files (>1M), I always consider who is getting the file before sending. If they have a dial-up, I'll send a link instead.
And since I'm >2 miles from my CO, I had to go with cable modem. It's a thing of beauty even at $45/month. I was able to drop my second phone line and ISP. About an even trade.
we call that "idiot proofing" when writing test procedures for manufacturing. Find the most technically-challenged person you can find. A fabulous idea.
yeah, I'm stuck in the same Microsoft boat at work. It's even worse here, most of the computers are MACs. I just keep forwarding this information to our IT people.
And I'm a huge fan of Eudora. I've got Eudora checking my road runner account from work and Outlook running even as I write this.
It's the only class that I ever dropped at Cincinnati, the year was 1976. I should have gone to more than 1 lecture. It didn't look like the way a computer should be programmed. With IBM punch cards, no less.
guess not.
I (I'm a EE) work with a bunch of Industrial Desingers and they get bored when their project isn't sexy. boo-hoo.
They should be happy that they are being paid so well and they are employed, so says me.
If you want something exciting, pick up work on the side. or just surf for porn.

egads! I agree with you on every point.
so if he/she was willing to pay for it, why not do it?
After all, good consultants are all whores, anyway. Maybe you're not cut out for it.

I believe that you'll find that Benjamin Franklin was considered a "free thinker". But I guess that means he could have believed in a supreme being.
Oh my god (God, your choice)! someone on slashdot knows what a VT100 is?
For those of you that don't know, it's a dumb terminal (you know, like the application Hyperterminal), but that's all that it does.

I've got cable modem and a Linksys 5 port hub/firewall. Been on line with 3 PCs for over 6 months. Not a lick of trouble.
And I love watching the lights blink.

the contraction of "that is" is "that's". are you're glad that there are so many experts out here?
