I've been wondering about this since lcd's first came on the market. You can buy some laptops with beautiful backlit screens for less than a $1000 US, but a nice 15 inch lcd is almost as much.
I recently worked for a company that provided listing information for the Real Estate industry. Believe me there are very few if any realtors who can get by without the internet. All them major MLS's have to be updated via web interface of some kind and you have to use the listing service because of National Board Of Realtor rules.
I know it is quite common to not actually make a clickable link to a referenced pages on/., and I have been meaning to complain for a while now. I for one read/. on my PDA while I am riding the bus to work and the software I use cannot follow non href links so any article mentioned but not linked-to does not get downloaded. I know there are good reasons for not making clickable links for referenced material but I believe there are more reasons to actualy give clickable links. Besides I think most ppl dont because of laziness.
speaking of wich, does anyone know of a board that has 2 agp slots. I have been running dual head for a couple of years now with one agp and one pci video card, but it would be nice to have a board with 2 agp slots.
The article fails to mention what P.O.S. software the snowboard shops are running. If any one know a good one let me know. We could use this at a non-profit bookstore I volunteer for.
Preferably it would use a database on a server so we could use the same db with multiple registers and maybe even the a shopping cart on our website. Also it would be cool if it worked with the cuecat for scanning barcodes.
It would be nice if google had a front page along the lines of slashdot the I could customize to display the headlines I am most interested in.
Also maybe some kind of MORE NEWS link that showed more headlines from the topic I am reading (such as Science and Technology) that listed more of todays stories that are not necessarily the top stories.
Wow a slasdot meeting in Raleigh I had no idea. Let me know when the next one is.
Tylers Speakeasy in Carboro has wireless lan as well and you can get on the UNC-1 network from the front poarch at the Dead Mule in Chapel Hill(Thats where I am sitting right now).
Send me an email I lice in chapel hill and know several ppl building bots. You can check out where we stand at www.opensaurus.com. Also we will be apearing at the Lulu Tech Circus. We have a lot of parts for sell if you need some to get started.
I have mod points right now and started to mod you up,but I have to respond instead, because you are my new hero. I mean holy cow I am freaking impressed. You should post a website explaining how you built it, that would beat all the case mod articles all too hell.
Now, if you were paying per bit for your cable access, then go ahead and share it with whomever you like, but if it is illegal to 'resell' it, you can't charge them for it.
Why should you have to pay per bit to share it. If I pay the cable company for a certain amount of bandwith, then what I do with it should be none of their business. Same goes for the water or power company, I but the water or the power so what I do with it is my business (BTW isn't that how enron was supposed to work).
The fact that you buy into the FUD that somehow what they sell you still belongs to them is a little dissapointing.
Before the masses are going to make a switch the interface has to be extremely easy to install and use.
Telling the average user he needs to install putty and and put plink in his path is like speaking japanese. The buety of limewire and bearshare is the user installs the software with one click and it works on just about any network.
Also, making the interface attractive and bug free probably would'nt hurt. For example your windows client seems to have a bug where it keeps asking for the hostname of my firewall(I dont have one) and wont let me exit the program.
If you would take the time to follow th links in the article, you would see that he did not post anything for you to download. He only posted the source.
HI, he's in the bathroom -- he'll be back

Electric door strikes open only when power is applied to them , meaning when there is no power you can still open the lock with a key.

If you write better software they will come.
What kind of geek are you? I want wireless access everywhere (I'm sitting at the cave in chapel hill right now).
If nothing else I could stream the movie to and from my website.
Oh no I've said too much.
