Well thanks for the update, I'm pleased to find out it was as ridiculous as I thought. (In a "man how stupid" sort of way....) I'm sure NeoGeo Pocket Color is a huge seller, so it makes sense to screw up the Nintendo Game Cube acryonym. And of course it would be really silly to just use two letters for Game Cube, because as you say - we must have exactly three!
I wonder who sits around and decides these things, anyway?

Can anyone tell me what GCN is supposed to stand for when talking about Game Cubes? Best I can figure is Game Cube Nintendo, but that sounds silly. It seems like half of the folks use GC as the shorthand name for game cube, and the other half use GCN.
Just a curiosity I've been meaning to ask for a while now.
When I was reading all the lists of Canopy's great accomplishments, in my head the voice I used was from Back to the Future 2 where Marty comes upon Biff's huge hotel and there is a video playing about all the amazing and great things Biff had done for the country. For some reason that voice just fit in perfectly... If you don't recall that scene, this will make no sense - but I trust most of us have seen this movie a few times;)
Why is something only good if it's selling the MOST copies, or has the MOST market share. Last I checked Disney was doing just fine, even without an R-Rated division. And somehow Nintendo seems to be doing ok, with plenty of people buying their products even without a GTA on their new system.
If I had mod points you'd be getting one! I feel exactly the same way, and am sitting here reading Slashdot while my wife has her turn on the new Gamecube with Mario Sunshine:)
Wow thanks! I have been hooked on newsbin forever but just did a full switch to linux and been without a great newsreader. Thankfully this grabit, along with being free as in beer, also works under wine at full speed:)
Well not really yet because there is a lot of repeats on G4. But it's pretty funny to watch all these video games on TV. Makes you feel a little (extra) geeky though. LOL
Hmm, but one of the coolest things about google in my opinion is the fact that even for the dead links you just click the cached link to "resurrect" the info.:)
If they removed all the dead links really quickly then we wouldn't even have it in their cache anymore. And I've gotten lots of info I was searching for from those links.
