    Nope - it didn't miss. I was the only survivor as I happened to be exploring some very deep natural caverns at the time.

    If they can take something out without getting caught, they could be putting something in. Who would bother with suicide bombs if they can slip it into the luggage?

    You know, it occues to one that perhaps there should be strip searches and close patdowns of the TSA employees. Perhaps colonoscopies? With terrorists smuggling bombs inside their bellies, who KNOWS what a rogue TSA agent might hide up there. A thorough search is required to keep our nations safe. You agree, of course.

    It seems to me this is entirely backwards to where you want to go. You want to give your sales staff the cachet that your IT people have, so you want to turn your IT people into salespeople when what you should be really doing is making the salespeople more like the IT guys. It's like trying to make firemen into lawyers. Sure you can, but why in the hell would you want to?

    This argument is bogus imo. If the ISPs can deliver 10Mbps speeds with caps, they can deliver it without too. The amount downloaded is an independent variable from the speed it's downloaded. Your argument is like saying you can drive your car at 60kph only if you only drive within 10km of your home, but any farther and you can only drive that speed at night.

They'll never feel the warmth given off by a line printer spewing 2000 pages of log files you accidentally printed. Woe to them!

    You're kidding, right? I was an Apple tech during and after the Power Computing era. The Power Computing machines were an absolute nightmare to fix. sharp edges, shitty hardware, etc etc.

    ie he's had experience in programming for the platform, was likely used to using Visual Studio with XNA and likely had all the tools he needed to program for the 360 already.

    The phrase RTFM springs to mind, for some reason. That the OP, and the several follow-up posters I responded to, didn't recognize the reference to, arguable, the premier case modder/builder out there isn't my problem. My time's as valuable as yours, if you don't feel like doing some digging, don't. You got the link, do what you will with it.

    Had you taken the time to do a little research, you'd realize the comment wasn't specific to the netbook but to the fact that you CAN build things other than a desktop machine and have them be respectable. Of course, that would require someone not spoonfeeding you.

    Well, considering the application they're running, ie a discussion board, I doubt they'd have 30TB of data. In this particular situation, I think it's a viable solution. My point was that if they're worried about their data, they shouldn't have it accessable via the intertubes =p. Ymmv, but if it was me, and I had 30TB of data, I wouldn't be backing it up remotely over the net anyway.

    I'm no expert, but if it were me, my off site backups wouldn't be accessible via the net at all, they'd be completely offline. I'd back up locally to a system not connected to the Internet at all then move my backups off site manually.
