In all honesty, have you considered suicide? I mean think about this:
1. You're contributing nothing to society.
2. As an unproductive member, you're a drain on the economy.
3. Any offspring you have now or will have in the future will be negatively impacted by your apparent lack of use.
In scenarios like this, it's best to simply remove yourself from the gene pool, it's what any responsible member of the human race would do.
Funny how the sticker on a machine that says "Designed for Windows 2000" actually means "Works with Windows 2000 if you go to our web site and download all the drivers for video, audio, modem, and NIC". Nevermind the classic chicken-and-egg problem of accessing their download site with no network interface drivers.
People don't play Counter Strike for the graphics, that's for sure. The game play is key, far more important than graphics. It's why I still play WarCraft II: Tides of Darkness.
Flashy graphics are nice, but if your game play is convoluted/confusing/boring, then the game is going nowhere fast.
Yeah, I explained to the client the concept of "passing the hash" and if someone was sniffing the network traffic that a hashed password wouldn't matter and blah blah blah.
I remember his words were "well, it's secure enough for our purposes". So rather than argue, I simply went ahead and wrote it. C'est la vie.
I've used javascript cryptography routines before, once in a php project for authentication, used javascript to generate an md5 hash of the password and sent the hash over http.
I considered it a hack, but it's what the client wanted, and who am I, the developer, to question the client's motives? Cheap bastard, didn't want to pay for an SSL cert. Just hope no one passes the hash.;)
If you're a "computer programmer", and you don't know how to keep yourself free/less vulerable to popups and spam, then I really don't have much sympathy for you. No wonder all our jobs are going to India...
I still can't fathom the idea of paying for Red Hat software. Are they skirting the GPL? Can I download the Enterprise Linux for free? I don't need support....I will support myself.
No one wants to work on the little "niceities" that a user-oriented OS such as Windows or Mac OS X has. OSS developers want to work on the "cool" projects, that and for us, functionality is relative to the user. OSS developers tend to write software for developers, not your average Joe Sixpack.
Fine by me, though. I'm not afraid of the command line.:)
[matrix:/] neo% su - Password: ****** [matrix:/] root# killall matrixd
is faster than
ctrl-alt-del Username: neo Password: ****** Start->Control Panel->Services Right click matrixd, click stop [WARNING: The following services depend on 'matrixd' to run and will be stopped: AgentSmith, Oracle, PersonGenerator, Internet Information Services]
I wonder if it can be used to keep my grades from being released to my parents, I mean yes; they pay the tuition, but isnt the semi-unique sequence of D's and F's my copyright?
...Can I sue my university for even printing them?;)
I think that Red Hat is an inappropriate distribution to use for something whose purpose is to create music. The best choice in this matter is in fact OpenBSD, because security should be paramount in any application of computer science to a non-related field. This is because we as computer scientists need to offer the best we have available to other fields.
Solve middles, pair edges, and solve like a 3x3x3. Same algorithm applied to a 5x5x5 or for that matter, an NxNxN cube. All can be solved in terms of a 3x3x3.

Thank God they can only mod down to -1.
If the moon flew planes into our skyscrapers, we would have people on it inside of a week. :)
Yes, it would be the perfect place for my "laser".
Well, a good point about America, you can only be tried once for a getting DVD to play on Linux.
:)
Selling alpha leak software as final revision. Wow.
Well at least now your software comes pre-exploited, no haxors needed!
Ha ha ha, I know your pain all too well.

I for one welcome our new trusted computing BIOS overlords...

Most web servers cant handle the http requests associated with the Slashdot effect, and these guys are accepting uploads and running executables .

Now where is my ISO?

Maybe a few neat scraps of intellectual property. And UnixWare. Yeah, they've done alof of useful stuff in their time.
This is just a prime of the example of why you should read the fine print before you sign.
Is it the primary purpose of society/government/law to protect business?
The primary purpose of government/law is to further the advancement of society; but unfortunately sometimes we lose sight of that.

Yeah so hopefully with this information being public, they will lose money?
...or just change the items that will be on sale.
