    they could for $1 more make cool audio card with 96khz or 192khz optional for 16/20/24bit samples.

    ANd not for $400 retail but $80 retail

    We need an NVIDIA of audio makers... perhaps NVIDIA should make audio in all geforce4 chipsets.

    I always hated how hibernation needed the same disk space, ie 512meg ram, needed a 512meg file, this is completely lame.

    Why cant it
    1) save only "USED" ram, and mark unused with 0000000000s
    2) compress gzip it all at the same time.

    If compilers/libraries/programmers put more effort in optimized smart code not dogdy lame "oh yeah this works on a p4" code crap, then perhaps we can squeeze 2x more speed out of current cpus.

    Thats like getting as P4-4ghz FOR FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    We need to put the same effort in making smart code as engineers do in designing cpus with caches/prefectches etc....

    Todays compilers really do suck.

    Imagine a multiplayer GTA3, with say 1000 people... based on a real city not liberty.

    That would rock ass, drive/walk/fight like quake or CStrike but also do it in real maps and against PC too.

    It would be quite cheap for adobe to make/design a PCI card with custom asics or some shit that does blue/resize all the 100 filters in hardware and 50x faster than any CPU out there, hell 3dfx did a bunch in the beta chips before they died, so we will soon see photoshop filters in Geforce4 or something. THEN the issue of g4 vs p4 will be lame as a geforce4 will do it in 1/30th the time most likely, and for 1/10th the price.

    instead of using 3.4inch platters, new harddisks are starting to come out in 2.5inch or less diam platters in 3.5inch housings. Smaller DIAM = less seek times, less heat coz of surface area and faster xfer rates.

    So 3.5 inch disks should have 2 x 2inch platters side by side instead of one big ass 3.4inch one. This is the future.

    Look, explorer still will shows a 65000byte file as 63.8kb.

    Does that mean that new 512MB DIMM will really be advertized as a 536MB module?

    Its worst than a y2k change, no one will bother.

    Leave HD as it is, 1000 based. Leave ram/files as they are 1024 based, leave bandwidth as it is 1000 based.

    Just change one thing, HD sizes of 80GB, to "78.4GB formated"

    What next? redefining 1 gallon to 4 liters? 4000CCs ?
