Remember after the massive earthquake in Haiti, the news started reporting earthquakes about once a week? Accidents and casualties are nothing new to the oil industry.
It seems silly. If someone cybersquats on a domain name that would obviously be used by a mega corp, they will get taken down in court. If someone squats on a domain where there is no corporation to fight them, ie: jesus.com, they can make millions. It is almost a double standard.
I was a huge fan of the show, but as far as I can see, it has run it's course. I'm not trying to be negative but really, they are flogging a dead horse. They could bring in Kevin Spacey or Harrison Ford, but the story just isn't there any more. By continuing with this, they are besmirching the good name that the first 4 or 5 seasons has established. Let it go, FOX.
It's nice to see games like Zork get recognition for the profound influence it had on adventure games. Today's games like Diablo are just graphical extensions of games like Zork and eventually Rogue.
My only concern would be how secure is this wireless connection. I recently read an article about people who can intercept info from outside buildings with wireless LAN's. Even if the info I am sending is encrypted, i don't necessariy want people intercepting it. I am not saying the wired internet is the safest, but with this satellite technology be even that safe?
mp3 sharing is like a hydra. Cut off one head and two more grow in it's place. It still sux for the people who have invested the time and effort in these programs. They have lost the battle, but the war is far from over.
the months of rigorous training astronauts go through before they go into space. I think this is misleading because it implies any Tom, Dick or Harry can go into space. Not only will you have to be rich, but you will have almost a flawless human specimen to be able to up.

Scientology is right?
A game that was originally developed for Macs became Microsoft's console's biggest franchise.
..and here I thought .NET was a virus.
EEGAH!
there is a 1 in 10 chance this show won't survive because the hordes of Trekkies have nothing new to watch. It won't even matter if it's good.

Isn't that really what makes the web what it is? Think about it.
Give it to Mikey... he'll eat anything! I guess it beats sifting to make sure that quarter you swallowed came out.
a game of chess that plays itself. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of playing chess? Next up, self watching TV...

it gives me a warm feelimg inside to know that arcade games have been around all my life.
on Slashdot there was an article on how NASA has gone way over budget. Perhaps if the astronauts did their own "chores"...

Looks likes the possibilty of selling trips into space to people in the private sector may become a necessary reality.
This sounds like a worthy cause. I will gladly donate my PS when the gamecube comes out. :)
when aliens finally do intercept our transmissions they will think we all speak giberish.
The BBC article says the robot can call for human help if need be. What happens when it is on Mars. Will NASA send a mechanic to Mars?
As a guy who has had to work on Compaqs in the past I can sum up my feelings in one word. 'Good'.
The development that finally breaks Moore's Law? It seems like it could because it is a substantial increase in speed.
this is a big step for Freenet, but it seems to me people have been playing turn based games over the phone lines for eons.
Aliens will be more likely to contact if we make it easier to hack into our computers. In that case maybe this is all a a good thing.
