Your assuming people who use cell phones will find out or even care what the OS of the phone is. I bet money that no one but the few here care at all. People want cell phones that are inexpensive, feature packed, and have good reception. They could care less what's running under the hood.
Also watch as more and more people speculate about this and guess about that and spout off about whatever they want when talking about products that don't exist in any form yet and won't exist for at least a year and a half.
Disney will come out and have a press release stating they are doing away with hand drawn 2d animation and switching to all computer generated animation. People will ooo and ahh. Then their first movie under this change will come out and people will not like it and not go to see it. Disney will lose a ton of money and realize there is a time and place for everything and switch back to using a mix of hand drawn and computer generated like they do now.
All the other stuff is just personal preference and not really a reason NOT to buy something. Battery life is something that pretty much affects everyone.
Maybe cnet is just bitter because apple doesn't buy banner ad space on their servers? I've never seen one but plenty of ads for dell and other makes of the other mp3 players they mentioned.
Oh wait, I know why I've never seen one. I bothered to take the few minutes and spend the money to secure my pc's and network before attaching to my cable modem.
What do you want people that make toilets to handhold you also when you go take a piss? Might hit the floor and make a slick spot then go after the plumber or something.
Its called accepting responsibility, in this case for your network.
I bet it'll be a one time give us your email, enter your code, and select your free track and thats it kind of thing. With a form at the end probably saying, "If you liked this track then you'll also like this one. You can get it for.99. All you need to do is..."
Since Coke is sold at McDonalds instead of Pepsi I wonder if Apple was hoping to get both Coke and Pepsi but couldn't so they went with the next best thing, McDonalds. This is good since I hate Pepsi but eat at McDonalds at least once a week.
So basically all this is saying that they've needlessly scared enough people to delete anything with a.mp3 extension on their computers whether they ripped them from owned cd's or not.
There's a reason I haven't bought a cd in almost 3 years.
There are so many servers and players out there playing CS that you can always just jump in and find a game. How many copies do they think they'll be able to sell of this for the XBox? There will be so few players that you'll be forced to play on certain servers whether you want to or not.
"Add a digital out and video out and you have a portable dvd-like player."
dvd-like. Thats really the only way to explain how the movies will be since obviously its not dvd's but a different disc format. But you probably already know that because you read the article...right...right?
So not only is the xbox 2 going to use a completely different graphics processor but also a totally different CPU? Isn't this going to cause some slight (but not impossible) big-endian/little-endian problems as far as the cpu is concerned. It doesn't even say anything about problems with xbox 1 games writing directly to the GPU hardware being able to run on xbox 2 graphics hardware.
I'm sure xbox 1 games will run on xbox 2 but at what speed hit and general compatibility?
The PS2 runs PS1 games so well because (if I remember things correctly) the cpu of the PS1 is basically in the PS2 as well to handle other things...
Basically its the same theory as warning someone in AOL-IM. Their warn level gets high enough they can't send messages until it drops some. The problem is people get into "warning wars". How high can I make a friends warn level to piss him off.
For spam who is going to be the judge to determine if its spam or not? I consider all the stupid jokes I get from people spam so I should hit them and make them pay for it. What if I piss someone off so they decide to report every email that I've sent as spam in retaliation. Even friends like to piss other friends off from time to time.
For one thing if the console serves multiple purposes it limits the amount of things you can do at the same time. With multiple devices that serve one purpose and does that one thing very well you have more options on how to set it all up and how to use it. Plus if you want to upgrade a device you don't have to find a replacement that has all the options. Want a new dvd player? Just buy a new dvd player instead of a whole new PS2 that serves as your dvd player also.
I'd rather have a game console that JUST plays games. I don't want to pay more for something that I'll never use.
Or does anyone else feel that this generation console war is over. I'm no longer interested in getting an xbox or many games for the gamecube or PS2. I'm just looking forward to new hardware.
Medal of Honor was really good. Its 2 expansion packs were really bad though, especially the latest one. The whole lack of blood really was annoying also. This is war, its supposed to be nasty. It was very hard at times to know when you were hitting the bad guys without any indicators.
The Call of Duty demo was great. I'm really looking forward to the full game.
Unless of course you buy any modern pc. About 90% of them now come with firewire ports also. Oh and if you get any of the new soundblaster cards they all have firewire also.
I'd still use firewire for an mp3 player and video instead of usb. I'll leave usb for my keyboard, mouse, printer, and compact flash reader.
Ugh...I can't stand it when one downloads some mp3's and the person that ripped them was too damn lazy to click the box to have it assign the ID3 tags. The applications do it for you and people still don't bother to do it correctly.
I don't understand the whole rating thing. I mean if you don't like the song why do you keep it around on your hard drive? You would think that every song on the HD that someone has is rated the highest.

I was at McDonalds the other day and they didn't have any left. I didn't even get any monopoly pieces.
I bet it'll be a one time give us your email, enter your code, and select your free track and thats it kind of thing. With a form at the end probably saying, "If you liked this track then you'll also like this one. You can get it for .99. All you need to do is..."

And I quote from what I wrote:

Yeah but at what price point. I'm sure they can make everything super small and compact if they didn't have to worry about price.
Uhhh...you can't use the "proprietary" gamecube discs in anything else. You can't use the "proprietary" gameboy advanced carts in any other system.
Proprietary for a portable game console is just fine.
They've advertised this so far as also being able to play movies. Add a digital out and video out and you have a portable dvd-like player.
Cause thats what a nintendo power renewal or sub costs.

I'd say the biggest nagging problem would be that its not free anymore. Thats a pretty major thing right there.

Its like watching a network that had its shows written by IGN writers. Its really bad.
