Well if someone hasn't gotten a new PC in a few years and is shopping for one this year these mb's make some wicked machines. I doubt we'll see anything mainstream to replace usual hard drives any time soon. I doubt we'll see serial ATA even get close to being fully realized for quite a while also. I intend to build a new machine at the end of the summer and am seriously looking at using mb's with this chipset.
I currently have a PC with a via chipset and i've had nothing but problems with it. I'm only buying intel chipset based mb's from now on, even if it costs me more.
Yeah I've got Metroid Prime. Halo is the ONLY game I'd buy an XBox for. Thats why I haven't bought one. I'm not interested in any of the other games, the same basic stuff exists on the PS2 and Gamecube now but Something like Halo doesn't exist on anything but XBox. But thats still not enough to spit out the money for it. If it ever drops to $99 or close to that then I will.
GTA and Vice City ARE the primary reasons to buy a PS2. Just like Mario, Zelda, Metroid, F-Zero, Mario Kart, and Star Wars games are the only reasons to buy a Gamecube...oh wait, thats more than one killer app for both PS2 and gamecube.
I understand that but is the 12-17k the RIAA "won" in this worth the thousands more they'll lose in sales because of this? How many people will they have to go after to offset the lost money in cd sales because they are pissing off their customers? Instead of working with their customers and finding someway to take advantage of this new fangled thing called the internet they are striking right for their throats.
Both sides? Obviously the kids probably couldn't afford attorney fees and the RIAA would have dragged it out forever, but doesn't this just make the RIAA look like they were in it for the money instead of a lesson? Going after poor college students for nothing more than downloading music? I hope the RIAA is happy because of this they probably lost a couple hundred customers and everytime they do it they'll lose more.

In dual layers they can, but a consumer dvd burner cannot burn 2 layers. The layers are physically glued together after burning I believe so that can't be done at home.
Yeah but unfortunately if they include it in a package I'm already paying for they will probably raise the price of that package forcing me to evaluate whether a channel that I could care less about is worth losing other channels that I do want.
Whats wrong with cartoon network? They already got a lot of this crap on it.
And after you install the mod you don't need the cd anymore. You can have 2 or 3 WON ID's per license key also so unless a ton of people share the install cd you won't have problems.
What the RIAA did? I mean they are entangled in many lawsuits against various people and companies over this thing and they turn around and harrass the very people they are in the lawsuits against? Its basically the same thing as if someone killed one of my family members so I went to the suspects house and started harrassing them and their families. This can't be legal. When you are in a lawsuit there are certain things you can and cannot do when it comes to contact with the other parties.
I've been a member since October 1999. I average 4-5 movies a month and am still in the 4 for 20 bucks that us old members have plan. I have 58 movies in my queue. 1 is long wait and 2 are short wait. All the rest are now. Now that summer is coming and new tv is just about over I'll start going through rentals faster so it'll be interesting to see how my wait times change if at all.
At least how I use winamp is I have a HD with all my mp3's organized into folders by musician then by album. I usually just queue up a bunch by right click enqueue to winamp. I don't think I even have any playlists saved since it changes daily.
Why should I care about some SQL product that no one has heard of? Its not like the mozilla team named it IBM or Apple or Internet Explorer or something. The only confusion will be the SQL people who can't understand the difference.
Yeah I'm the same way. I actually own an old Pronto, but it was hard to use without looking down to see what was on the screen instead of a normal remote that I can use just by touch.
So you'd want to run compressed mp3's to an expensive home theater setup so you can truely hear how crappy mp3's sound? They would probably sound better through the cheapo speakers of the iPronto.
Palm IR doesn't have nearly the range needed to be a good remote. It'll work but you gotta be pretty close to the receivers for them to get the signal.
I already expressed my frustration with apple hardware (prices and performance) 3 years ago by buildings a windows PC for a small fraction of the price it would have cost me to get a comparable Apple machine. I haven't looked back since and I had been using macs since 1990 or so.
First Person Shooters on consoles are absolutely horrible. The control sucks. The graphics are at a much lower resoultion that you can get on the PC and it just isn't any fun. The article does say that this might be exclusivity for consoles only, so I really don't care. Its not like Id needs the money unlike other companies MS has bribed.
Hahaha...thats the thing, we still get refurbed Dells. No one said the people here responsible for purchasing were smart. If it works out ok for you though then cool, we just had nothing but problems. In fact I've got a dieing 19" dell trinitron sitting on the floor in my office.
I've got a 1.3Mhz P4 and one of the demos was NO WHERE near watchable. I saw maybe 6 or 7 frames of the entire demo, everything else was just sound. No way this runs acceptably on a 1.8Ghz.
For PC get Splinter Cell if you have the hardware. Superior to the console versions.
If you want to rent a console rent a PS2 and play Grand Theft Auto and/or Vice City all weekend.

Shouldn't that be: Halo series continues to be THE ONLY serious killer app for Microsofts console.

1. Selection
2. Convenience
3. Ease of use
4. Not having to wait in line on a friday night tripping over little brats and their soccer moms.
So this is what people do while they are unemployed instead of job hunting...ahhh...so much free time, must be nice.

You choose your OS knowing fully the limitations, and yet still complain...

At work we've had HORRIBLE luck with refurb dell monitors. They just don't last very long at all.
