    my point was made for me. I was replying to a post that was moderated a 5 that basically stated that palin's only qualification is her tits. Now I make the obvious reply and I am flame bating. what can i say the mods here have said it all for me. I do find myself reexamining my like for linux. I sure don't want to be associated with a bunch of socialistic intolerant politically correct cretins that sit around adulating themselves at to how brilliant they all are when they haven't though through anything. Its ok to slam palin for her tits but oh don't you dare even infer anything about the fact that obama is only where he is because he is black. That is his single strongest qualification. As for Mccain who cares he's loser too. that has nothing at whatsoever to do with my point.

    they all happen to be named windows? so we are talking about version seven of certain series of operating systems named windows but, not to be confused with windows. you see windows was created by a company called microsoft and they made six versions of that, and are working on the seventh. to add to the confusion there is this other O/S named windows also made by a company called microsoft but, this is not what we are talking about. Thank you for the clarification! I sure feel stupid now...

    I agree with you totally. there are things that there are only one of and came into existence over a span that we can not fathom. There is no right answer that we can come up with that explains how it all came into existence and ordered itself. my problem with evolution is not that i think it is wrong. i find it all makes pretty good sense actually. I also find it perfectly plausible that it was all winked into existence. its great fun to sit around and speculate on what happened. my rub is when your convoluted perception of how it all happened is somehow fact and any other convoluted perception is wrong and therefore must be crushed. zealotry is zealotry just because you think you are on the right side of an issue doesn't justify it.

    when it comes to someone's personal beliefs I don't really think that there is any burden of proof. please keep in mind i really don't see intelligent design as a theory. i also see an awful lot of what i would call faith in what is being called science particularly when in come to the question of where did it all come from. scientists see to have this propensity to extrapolate obvious facts through what they call logic out to some pretty absurd conclusions and still insist its science. consensus is not science. a lot of the theory of evolution is conjecture. if anyone was truly honest about it they would admit that. i'm not going to get into the common sense validity of it but, perspective does play a role in conjecture. i just don't think that anyone is truly objective once they take a stand on this topic.

    I'm certainly a cynic, most of us become so with age. As for bigotry, I have no problem at all with people holding different beliefs than I do, but that doesn't mean I blind myself to the most likely motivations of those presenting any given information.

    the point of education is to inform and to teach reasoning skill. many many people believe in creationism in some form. evolution even fits into some peoples view that do fundamentally believe that something started all of this. what I find astounding is that we can't even broach the concept of god in our schools but, we must teach faggotry to the 5 year old children of christians. So beat your chests about how inappropriate it is to teach the philosophy of god in public schools. After all anyone that has read any of the history of this country knows we were founded by a bunch of hedonistic pagans that sat around performing acts of debauchery. I for one have never said evolution should not be taught but don't you even for a second demand i accept it as the universal truth. you want to cram your truth down my throat while decrying mine. your rationalization for shouting me out of the room is that I want to shove my beliefs down your throat? isn't the next logical step violence? it just kills me how humanist bullshit clings to "its" facts making it "correct" therefore anything that doesn't conform to it bullshit and can't be tolerated. bullshit is bullshit you want me to respect yours then you respect mine. the hysterical part of this whole discussion is if I don't buy your bullshit hook line and sinker you accuse me of be "intolerant".

    well if you read a little bit of history to go along with all the science of yours you might find there is a pattern of plausible divine intervention. however i am sure your answer would be the ufo's did it. its not an either or. if god did create us then he does understand us however, it does not hold that we can understand him. deny the existence of something that you have never actually looked for does not mean it isn't there.

    The point of anti-trust is to keep one small group of people garnering all of the power then wielding it to keep all others in their humble place.     Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a salient response to what some of us perceive as manufactured hysteria. So much crap is espoused about things that are so open to interpretation that it really disgusts me that these people consider themselves intelligent at all. Then again do stupid people know they are stupid? They are being pumped full of manure by people with an obvious agenda and like sock puppets they skitter about like chicken little thinking that they have discovered that the world is ending. Meanwhile the guy winding them up is selling something. Theoretical science is observation followed by critical thinking followed by criticism. This is all theoretical until it happens and even then we do not know the why for sure in many cases. Science is not a religion and anyone that promotes a fanatical frenzy around their science isn't selling science. Here is just as stupid but, plausible postulation;The reason that there are so many earthquakes in California is because of all the structures constructed on the coast are causing an imbalance in the San Andreas fault. So now lets make a movie about it, and start a "movement" to get everybody out (except us of coarse) to save it from falling in the ocean. It makes just as much sense as what I am hearing about global warning. Trust me I could come up with all kinds of idiotic unprovable postulates that would appeal to the emotions of the quasi intelligent. Does 1000 people sitting in an auditorium chanting "the world is flat" make someone who questions their "science" wrong?

    So you jump right in with some other kind of your own. Look your family is no one else responsibility. No employer really cares about your priorities. Wearing them on your sleeve like some kind of badge of honor does not make you a hero. It make you a manipulable target. Life is full of choices and they come with consequences. It is not incumbent on anyone to deal with or be sympathetic with the consequences of your actions. To insist that anyone care is "idiotic". I agree that work is rendering service for pay. Pay is associated with the value of service rendered. Nothing more than that. As for forgetting about your kids for 8-12 hours a day who in their right mind would pay you to sit around and think about them.

    It seems to me that in business outside of the IT department it is pretty common that the software element of the widgets they sell is just not important. That is until someone get hurt or worse. Just look at the trend of outsourcing programming. I see things sold all the time that require some kind of embedded software to control the various components that are munged together to make some kind of "system" that the customer has dreamed up. Then when it is installed all of the various contractors that are only interested in selling their particular tier, point their fingers at each other and declare, it is the other guys responsibility to get it working. It would be rather amusing if some of this stuff wasn't so critical. The latest one I have seen is some branch of the govt threw out a rfp for a rig to exhaust high heat exhaust gases from an apu in a hangar for an aircraft. Everyone in the channel is clueless including the engineer that "designed" it. It would scare you to find out who ultimately will wind up programming this thing. I have long said that computer scientists need to get outside of IT, and into engineering and fabrication for this reason. I usually just get ignored but, there is a huge need and opportunity for skilled people. The next time you see something that looks complicated and does things automatically respect it may have been programmed by a convenience store clerk. be afraid, be very afraid...

Well for them anyway.
