My wife works for Western Digital and I know that pretty much all the harddrives are manufactured the same, just that some have 1 platter active, 2 platters active, they mess with the firmware to make only so much space available, stuff like that. I mean, from a mass production point of view, its cheaper to create just 1 unit type, than having a line for 40gig, 80gig, 120gig, 200gig, 250gig.....much easier to just have one line. Kinda like with processors, they dont go, ok, this is the 2Ghz batch, the 2.2Ghz batch and as with processors, I am sure such things as manufactoring defects also dictate that kind of drive it is....
so yeah, the 40gig costs them pretty much the same as the 250, cool aye?:)
Don't move to holland then, the police are useless there. I had a car accident (minorish) and we called the police, so we could have a record for insurance. In no uncertain terms I was told they were busy. OK, fair enough. A few weeks ago, on my steet, a guy gets shot, it took the police 15 minutes to arrive. Of course, the station is less than 2 blocks away. But the best was 3 years ago. My wife and I were browsing in a electronics shop, I was debating getting a Xbox (2001, 3 years? right.) and there is a cat in the store....they don't know what to do, the animal shelter is closed, so they call the police....in 10 minutes, 3 cops arrive. THREE. I couldn't believe it.
The police in holland are useless wastes of space. I think they are only happy if they can blow away some buitenlanders (foreigners).
yeah, that whole hyperlink thing, bastards, how dare anyone link to anything that they didn't do. Shameless I say. Google, the bastards, billions of links, no credit to the authors, a one stop link shop. Shame on them, letting people leech content that they didn't write. Terrible. How did this ever come into being?
I think we need to rethink this whole interweb thing, maybe get The Bride of SCO to help us draft a new HTTP protocol, only allowing you to link you have licenced, or something like that.
Or people can just get off their high fucking horse and deal with it. I hate registering, and if its on the net, its mine...all mine....muhahahahaha.

Actually, maybe not shake his hand (could be unhygenic), leech is more the word
I remember working at IBM, I hated putting my time code info on the mainframe via a 3270 emulator. Didn't run it at home though, wasn't about to quit my job over it.
I think work and home can (and in a lot of cases should) be totally different.
Dude, I remember getting Doom2 before it was released, had to download it on a 14k modem from some BBS. Took a while. Ah, the days of BBS'
I remember walking into a computer store after school and talking to the sales person about how awesome it was. I remember he asked me for a copy (this was in Australia, shipping lags/lagged there). heh.
OK, I think the point trying to be made is not that it was possible for something to be invented or that it was the "obvious" evolution (as far as I am concerned, after the first person saw a bird fly, then it became "obvious" to invent some way to fly) its the fact that they did. They actually made something (ie the ipod) that actually changed things. Everyfreaking one knows what it is, the understand the concept, they just get it. Sure its a bit of an evolution over a discman, but thats irrelevant. Its the fact that they saw it, made it and sold several cargo ships worth. Its something apple seems to have a habit of.
He was also a voice in the original Gabriel Knight game from Sierra (I remember having the CD talkie). I remember this cause I was 15 or so and he said fuck (which was pretty cool for a computer game in the mid 90s)....it also had Tim Curry.
I have a Sony Ericsson p900, i got myself the putty ssh client (it says its for the p800, but its basically the same thing) as well as a vnc client (remember from slashdot a while ago....oh well)...
I am to lazy to google for the links, but its a pretty spiffy package.
Failing that, you could always get yourself a tungsten c, it has a keyboard, making ssh sessions easier, however you have to connect via wifi or ir....wifi isnt always available and ir needs LOS to a phone to work, can be cumbersome.
and therein lies the problem, if you are disappointed, why do you want the DVD? to relive the disappointment over and over?
i just dont understand that.
If you buy crap you dont like, they will keep it making it, which for my sake (dont care about the rest of you) sucks, i hate these shitty freakin movies
it just goes to show how moronic they are, i mean, its pretty simple, if the host cannot be found, then the program should be told, not something like a tcp reset. where they not parroting on about caring about standards or something....
verisign blow. All this extra work for people just cause they want to make the sleazy buck, bastards.
what kind of mouse pad?
