low price because Amazon was selling at a loss or near loss, they want you to buy media for the Fire. They made an Android tablet that wasn't marketed as an Android tablet, but people hacked it into one, which is something that Amazon will block or the price will rise. Simply put, unmodded, it's average, modded, it's better than other Android tablets.
Although I think that people should pay for what they use, It may be a case where the EULA didn't include Government Agencies, but the Government should pay, especially since the current convervative would be right behind and anti-piracy action.
'Infected by Malware' means that the Malware was able to attempt to do stuff on a Mac and left a couple of signature files(?) but the Malware would have stopped because it wasn't running on Windoze. 'Potential' vector for Malware, means that they don't have evidence that people do this, but it's possible, it's also possible for Mac users to pass bad Word or PDF files onto other systems. So the lesson here is buy their product (sarcasm) and this will make the world safer for Windoze users and Mac users. As for Flashback, a sad tale where not patching Java, and stupid users, mainly those that frequent sites in Europe/Russia, have caught a bug, life goes on.
there were many touch screen devices before this one, so that's one issue out of the way. The real killer is that this is clearly a patent for a child's toy, as stated clearly in the patent docs. What would breach the patent would be an app that mimicked the processes described in the patent. iOS looks pretty safe, as does a hundred other touch driven devices.
I'm sure that when use by animals is taken into account, crapping on newspaper vs. e-reader, the paper is more economical. You don't find e-readers hanging on a nail in a remote out-house/dunny/thunder-box.
Did I miss something? it doesn't mention phone as a feature in the diagram, so it's just a PDA or handheld Computer, an idea that wasn't really unique at the time.
I have a Prius (2nd hand) and with a CVT, the engine is usually running at about the same rev range, but the speed varies a lot. So I need a sound based on speed and not 'engine' RPM. (for those people who don't understand the Pruis setup, a petrol engine provides the running power a lot of the time while the electric motors take up the slack and lessen the strain. The transmission varies the gear ratio without the usual 'steps' and so the engine can be held at optimum rpm while the CVT accelerates the car)
I have a secondhand 2003 Prius, now that there is a cheaper Prius C, at a reasonable price, I'll possibly buy another hybrid, now that the price has dropped.
As it's the easiest form of networking, and as all/most portable devices and computers use it, it couldn't be more than a sure bet. I'd like to see these research/forecasting companies lodge a sum of money with an independent trust and if the forecast fails then the cash is donated to charity!
why do people link my mention of fuel dumping to the fire? I clearly said that they May have known that something was wrong and started dumping fuel to lessen the chance of a major fuel fire.
2 pilots that safely ejected, 1 person fainted, 1 police who was hurt while attending the scene, 2 for smoke inhaulation. It seems that the pilots knew that something was wrong and were dumping fuel before the crash. Quick thinking stopped a larger fire and the possibility of more casualties.
Everyone will/may be paying, not just U.S. consumers. (I avoided the U.S. = us pun). The article splits the technology into separate methods, while the patent covers a working combination of methods, so the article draws a conclusion that the whole method was just something that was already invented, they don't say the same thing about the wheel, which is also part of many patents.
have you seen how fast those big fans move? the actual RPM speed is more like RPH(ours). There is more risk driving along a treelined street on a sunny day.
right tool for the job, unlike the tool that thought that this info was interesting enough to put on /.
not good for 20% of males that have red/green defective colour vision, you desensitised clod...
the first line of the /. post shows that the scum bucket coward is just posting this as flame-bait.
"More bad news comes from Apple's iDevice manufacturing partner Foxconn that is sure to ruffle the feathers of Apple fans."
Yawn.. lets examine MS or IBM, or any major global company. about 10% tax? sounds a little high, there are business execs who pay 5%.

the price of the biggest selling OS in the world is also the cheapest, or at a reasonable price.
If Nokia moves away from Windows, then all of the Windows-dominates-phone-market-in-2015 predictions will be wrong!

Though not the worst offender, Google's ability to mislead, sell data, etc puts it up there, between Apple and Farcebook.
iTrojan? because it's not an iOS bug, it should be MacTrojan...

how are the two articles related? because they happened on the same planet? or because religion was involved? (two different religions)
1024x768 I haven't used one for about 15 years. People can't still be using them, surely?

strobe?? yer right. They turn VERY slowly, they only have 3 blades, the Sun moves across the sky, hardly a 'strobe', hardly a problem.

from a generation that hand built their own computers, I am truly impressed that you tried, and succeeded.
