    if your view is which is better for the earth as a whole, it should be remembered that we are looking at decades of nuclear development vs decades of smog belching fossil powered generation, so a change in view is not really the acceptance of the atom, more a rejection of pollution.

    If I had the free cash, I would consider it, might help direct treat of medical conditions, suggest a change in diet. The other side is that, if you KNOW that you have a problem or there is a chance of a problem, answering some employment or insurance question could get interesting.

    I have an iPlod Touche (same size as an iPhone), as an eBook, it's too small. I would consider a paperback size eBook as the minimum. Personally A4 would be nice, or a twin A5 size?

    crap, as usual, and slow to get into /. the trojan messes with the proxy settings and keeps you pointed at porn sites, it does NOT have FULL control over your machine.

    buyers of an OS base their decision on many things, Vista being bad and MacOSX being good is not one of them. People have a hardware and software investment to consider. If MacOSX ran on standard PC hardware, then it would be a different matter.

    As a Newton developer from way back, I couldn't resist having my iPlod Touche engraved, -Newton MessagePad II-. The only real difference between Type I and the new type iI is the lack of apps, which will be overcome using the web SDKs that are supported. no need for the NTK. The more I use my iPT, the more of the Newton I see in it.

    you don't have to buy a Mac or an iPod or an iPhone, there alternatives, Apple owes you Nothing. They are doing what any other company does, market their products in the way that would offer the best outcome for the company, OFFS it's just a 'phone! The other phone manufacturers have had decades to do the same thing, if they didn't, then they are the one's that are giving consumers a raw deal, not Apple.

    it's election time. The money won't be enough to cover the cost for the ISPs, it may only just cover the cost of monitoring and admin. It also adds a level of complexity so that parents can watch porn but kids can't, yer, right! kid will use parent access 'cause it's easier for the parents. It also puts in place a mechanism to censor other material.

    yawn stories, just love 'em, and the stats are based on web browsing? OFFS! A new MacOSX release is coming in October, so there will be a bump in the stats then. There has already been an admission that Vista isn't selling as fast as MS wanted, and that XP sales are just fine.

    There is a second issue being reported and this is the issues of getting genuine search results vs. getting results from paid advertising, and googles failure to identify the paid ads clearly. In Oz if an article in a newspaper etc. is sponsored by someone like a company, then the article must state that fact.

    mass adoption of Linux on the the desktop is vapourware. Yes, there may be widespread adoption of one or two flavours of Linux, but the amount of work applied to each, should have them individually labled and identified, instead we have a large number of never popular items riding on the success of a few. Don't get me wrong, I have been looking to use Linux since the early slackware days, but without the major driver support from 3rd parties, it will be a poor alternative.
