Since there will be no software support for this device and since the hardware is identical to that which runs PocketPC. Sharp will realize they need to stay competitive and will release a PocketPC update for the device. A simple ROM Flash update should do the trick just fine. Even open sores zealot Alan Cox thinks this device running Lunix sucks!
So your saying that with its proprietary apps and lack luster hardware, I should just stick with my new Jornada 568 and PocketPC 2002?
Will Red Hat evermake a EASY linux upgrade to the PocketPC devices (they do have 32mb of flash ROM now)? Have you heard your buddy Mr. Perens say anything about porting an alternitive OS to the new Jornadas now that they have the ARM processors and Flash ROM?
I really would like to ditch XP because I am finding it is dulling my brain. But I am not about to give it up untill I can have a powerful PDA (ARM based) that can EASILY sync with Linux or other alternitive OS.
I have used HP cals for a long time and love them, damn things are built like tanks! I also bought a HP 568 PocketPC and it's not built so well. Things have really went downhill since their current managment took over. I guess it's true, never let a woman do a mans job!
