Yet America has one of the highest (if not the highest) levels of immigration in the world. It may not be a great place to live, but it's a good deal better than many other places.

Go and live in Zimbabwe or Uganda for six months, then complain about bad government. You think the police, or racism, are bad in the USA? Try living in South America! Yes, of course the USA has problems, but they're very, very small compared to what people in other parts of the world have to put up with every day.

    (And I say this as a non-USAian).

Personally, I'm going to avoid *any* method which involves looking directly at the sun, even if it is through glasses supposedly designed to make it safe. Instead, I've got an old bedside-table mirror, which I'm going to tape up, leaving only a tiny hole in the middle of it. Since my bedroom is quite long, I'll project an image from the pinhole mirror onto the opposite wall. Hopefully that'll work; I'm about 50% sure that it will. The mirror might not be flat enough, of course, but that's preferable to a CD which only filters visible light.

Next time round (2012) I plan on being much better prepared.

So now, no doubt, all the drug dealers with Brococks that have been converted to fire .22 live ammunition will be rushing down to the police station to get a license. While Brocock go out of business.

Abso-bloody-ridiculous. Especially considering how easy it is to get a 'real' firearm in London.

Personally, I don't think DRM will work for a number of reasons:-
    1) People are stupid, but they aren't that stupid. They will catch on eventually
    2) Chinese companies will completely ignore DRM, since they are not subject to the whims of the RIAA/their representatives in the American government.
    3) There are more, reasons but I've got other things to do now.

NASA announced yesterday that its longest running program, Wooden Block B, was ready and scheduled for dropping off the Empire State Building on April 17th. The project has taken 44 years to complete, at a cost of approximately $700 million. The reason for the high cost is that the probe contains the most expensive wood ever created, which will be used to test Newton's theory of gravity. Newton predicted that an attractive force known as 'gravity' will act between any two bodies. Wooden Block B will be able to test Newton's theory using Earth's gravitational field, and a very tall building.
