What was that game from a long time ago where you could fly really fast on a seemingly endless path and have to jump over gaps and avoid other things while out somewhere in the universe with colorful backgrounds of stars and planets? I remember it being really fun but now I can't find it:-( Any help??
I'm afraid the problem here is not that the cat learned how to ring the doorbell, but rather your "friends" think it's funny to ring the doorbell and watch you become amazed at the cat's newfound "talent"
Well shit I fixed it! A simple firmware upgrade to my lniksys router was all it took. I read some forums before that and I guess it has something to do with the MTU of the broadband connection. Mine changed from 1472 (or something) to 1500 and I got an amazing difference! I just wish I had done that back when I had more bandwidth...
Yeah, I have the same problem with my cable. I am happily downloading at 200KB/sec in some P2P program (used to be closer to 600KB/sec until @home went away) and then someone starts downloading from me and maxes out my upload. All of a sudden my download speed drops to like 40KB/sec, response times on web sites are painfully slow, and I end up cancelling the upload... Anybody know of a way to fix this?
For all of you who are getting a 404 error, it's because he is blocking any requests from people browsing with IE (and possibly Netscape..) I used Opera and it worked just fine... This guy is made a damn nice case but he sure takes that whole Microsoft sucks thing a little too far.

Jeez, I think you need to remove the stick from your ass next time you reply to a comment. My question was how many OS's out there that get posted to slashdot are actually used in real-world situations. I was not implying that they aren't useful, just wondering how many are actually used.
If they did this, you would think that if somebody obtained access to the network they would have an easier time getting around due to the false sense of security a private network brings.
Traditionally, domain hijackings happen when attackers block access to a legitimate DNS server and replace it with their own. This DNS incident was different because this was a data attack rather than a hardware attack. By altering data in key DNS tables users were redirected just as successfully as implementing a rogue DNS server.
A few weeks ago I was talking to one of the techies responsible for the database control and he said everything is stored on 1TB of solid state space. Apparantly part of the backup system was coded by (you guessed it) Micro$oft!
Any bets on when this $2.3 billion satelite's computer system crashes, taking down guidance with it and sending the whole thing into a free fall to plummet down to earth? Hey, maybe it will hit Redmond...;)
These recent photos taken of Mars show almost what looks like a civilization has formed on the planet. Scientists opposed to the idea of life on Mars claim that these building-like objects are merely rock formations. When asked about what looks like a major roadway, they declined comment.
I have outside my window, mounted to a streetlight, a Ricochet antenna. I wonder if they will be leaving these, retrieving them, or letting the power companies eventually remove them... It would be kind of interesting to take one down and see if there is anything worth any money inside of them. What do you guys think?
Only problem is the film is where the hologram comes from. You would effectively need a roll of film and a shutter for it to work.
I can beat all of those with my Libretto 70ct -- 850g (1.88lb)
So, would that make it a.... Beowulf cluster?
... exactly how the whole mess got started??

Sort of like putting a sail on one end of a skateboard and a fan blowing air on it on the other end. It still isn't going anywhere.
Anywhere except for slashdot...

Ohhhh! I always wondered why they invented network games!

Yeah they seem to be working real hard....

Didn't they do this awhile back? I remember a map of the gravitational pull on different parts of the earth...

There are way too many OS's out there... How many are actually used for anything?

And a lot of good that did... His server's slashdotted to hell!
This Is something I was just looking at... very interesting, shows what techniques have been used to hijack domains.

Hmm.. I wonder how they get up there to switch the tapes out....
super-duper communications networks
Yeah but it's a bitch converting packets into telegraph form...
