    Growing up in the dark winters of Greenland Chuck Jones' cartoons really lighted up my days. Video tapes are being passed down from generation to generation, so that our kids can have the same experiences as me and, siblings and cousins had.
    He was a good guy for making those characters.

    If Red Bull pays a lot of money to have theur adds in WipeOut and other games i would expect that the developers could reduce the price. But no they ofcourse increse the price and calls the adds a "feature" that increases the gameplay

    I for one am using Linux on an iMac. I simply didn't bother to find out how MacOS worked.
    Also the mac is going away soon and a friend of mine is going to have it. In order for her not to destroy it i need to be able to connect to it and manage it over the internet. (I know that mac should be easy enough that it shouldnt be a problem for her to fix it her self, but hey i like linux more, and with KDE its just as easy)

    Ok if the object is speeding towards the hole, and at some point reaches speeds say half the speed of light, will the light created/reflecting from the object travel at half the speed of light away from the object?

    am i sounding stupid?

  11. A couple of not so good things about linux for pp on Yellow Dog Linux 2.0 review · · Score: 1

    First there is no support for danish layout for the iMac keyboard. This is a very anoyng factor. I have to swich between danish and ud layout to get all the letters.

    Second: Some programs are not speed optimised for ppc, wich means that some programs are unusable even though they function under ppc-linux.

    And then this distro is RPM based: this isn't all bad except it would really be a great system if the packaging system wouldn't be changed constantly.

    I really was surprised at how KDE got to look with version 2.1. i usully used Gnome because the earlyer KDEs took up to much screen-space and was too slow. But the constant colapsing of Gnome apps got me so tired that i decided to give up the extra space for kde. I just like what i got going now and have been looking forward to this next release for a long time. I am really hoping for speed increesments and stabilityenhancements in koffice

    I just downloaded the source and compiled it. I got to idedriver.o and started getting errors. For every patch there comes i can comile just a little longer, and this time i get the error in function 'pci_init_sl82c105'...Just typical ??? Who do i report this to?

    Yes but windows users don't buy a scanner that is not supportet... And no they wount go more b*tchy, you see linux/unix users are allready out there on the edge (some of them). But they don't have to, so the only thing the producers of scanners or whatever have to worry about from windows uses is 'normal' complaints from users that expectedt $4000 worth of scanner for $100 or a full version of ph*t*sh*p included in the product. And if you worry about windows users going more crazy than linux users, you ARE missing the point of the article... at least as far as i see it, it goes: Ease the asshole when asking for specs, let sh*t come out the way its supposed to. Don't bother how windows users would react, instead try to reason and rationalize with whomever you want specs from.

    Microsoft users might behave like this, BSD, Amiga users definatly does. But i would say that you missed the point, Microsoft users have their drivers, they have the support. Linux/unix users doesen't. And that wount change for a long time if linux/users keep smeering sh*t on the newsgroups and discussion pages. I know that if i used milions on developing a device, with drivers for Windows, because thats the main market, marketing it and supporting it for windows and people from the different linux/unix communities started calling me names...

    One thing that really bothers me is that i can't just download a new kernel and compile it. With every try i have i get disapointet by getting some sort of error. On my pentium machine i just compile the new kernels (i like running new kernels). But here i just run the suplied kernel.

    Thats just the way it is. Right now OOP is the only way to go and if you want to teach OOP then it is easyer to just use a language where you are forced to use that. And Java does just that. Here its not wich one is better, its wich one does just that. I agree that Java is not near perfectly build and in only few ways is it simple, but it is compleately OO and you have to give it credit for that. C++ and others are OO too i know, but the structure doesn't shine OO in the same way as Java in my oppinion

    If this one is going to be made by IBM it will propably be some kind of PowerPC in a future version, and this means that OSs like Linux, NetBSD and OpenBSD will be able to run on it with little modifications, and that just sounds like something that i could go for.
