real dogs are cute and warm. robot dogs are cold and look robotic. The basic thing is I *can't* love a robot dog the same way I love my dog at home. Yeah, real dogs maybe harder to train, they might need to be housebroken, but so are human babies. We all complain how hard it is to raise kids, but do we even think about replacing them with robotic counterparts? I guess a robotic dog could work as a viable "man's best friend" for someone. But, real dogs all the way for me.

wow, two bullshit arguments in one sentance. I've heard these arguments used so many times for just about every justification for infringing our personal liberties (the drug war, carnivore, etc.) I'm an innocent person, but I fear the law enforcement of this land, and this thing makes me fear them even more. You say they aren't the judge, jury, and executioner, but whose to say they won't be treated that way. And oh, let's not forget the fucking children. I can't wait until they start monitoring "bad" subcultures who supposadly do "bad" things (goths, ravers, punks, people who *might* look like they're in a gang). I have many things to fear from this, and I would fear for my children's safety as well. This will be abused, and in the hands of our law enforcement this is one dangerous tool.

To say that I'm wrong for doing so is ludricous. So, by that logic, I would be wrong in boycotting prodcuts by Phillip Morris, whose ciagrrettes kill tons of people each year, because their products are "good", I'm an evil person? Give me a fucking break.

Anyway, you seem to be confusing boycotting with government intervention(which i do not support). People who boycott choose to do so, and do not interfere with the rights of others. Boycotting merely means that they are encouraging others to do so, but do not force them to.

Why? well, they're agreement was: royalties for all sales from internet explorer. Well, since it has been stated time and time again that IE *is* part of the Windows OS, then they should be entitled to royalties from all windows OS sales(except for NT and Win95, since IE isn't "tied" to those OSs). yeah your right they are. but the there is also the case that people are using this program to do illegal activities and i would bet you that over 80% of the people have downloaded illegal materials off of the program.

The way i see it, if there is nothing illegal about the inherent abilities of the program, then the people who created it are not responsible for it in any way for any "illegal activities" that occur. Do we charge gunmakers with murder every time someone commits a murder with a gun(I suppose if you were a liberal you'd agree with that statement, but maybe you'll see my point)? By your logic, we should also go after the people who made CD-Rs, FTP software, and the Copy command. That is how i'm interpeting what you said, so correct me if i'm wrong. Anyway, the main idea here is personal responsibilty. Those who are the ones actually committing the copyright infringement, not the people who made the program. Until you can prove to me that the process of sharing one file to another computer is illegal, you still have no case, and neither those the recording industry of korea. As for filter, it is not possible on a decentralized network. The max you can go is a text based filter, which is very easily defeated by pig-latin. And unlike napster, there is no way to police it.

But the fact is that when you log on and let people download those mp3s that are copyrighted you are trafficing stolen goods in a sense.

The 2 koreans aren't the ones trafficing, they are the ones renting the "trucks", so to speak. The truck renters have no control over how the truck is used. If someone decided to transport illegal goods, then the person driving the truck is responsible, not the truck renters. Once again, personal responsibility is the main idea here.

Now let's look at the facts:

Is the mp3 format illegal? no.

What does this program these koreans made do? Let's you search for and transfer files from one machine to another.

Is the inherent ability to search for and transfer files from one computer to another illegal? no.

So what we have here is the riaa in korea persecuting 2 people because some people use their program for illegal purposes, and on the side they're making up figures to justify their case.
