I've tried to make it as secure as possible: - Limit giving out personal info to anyone - Cross-shred anything with info on it - Give out 867-5309 as my phone number;)
But, ever tried not to provide your social etc for: - Doctor's office (They will want payment at time of visits). I've begged with them not to use my SS#, but it's an easy and unique identifier, they said. - Electric company (They wanted $300 cash in lieu of a SS#)
I agree with the first poster about the mailbox, but outside of apartments or high-rises, how many lockable mailboxes have you ever seen? I'd like to, but it's probably against my HOA anyway.

Now, even if you are just flying through the USA airport system, you will need a visa.
Man, if the rest of the world did this, my passport would be full of visas and stamps.

The linux kernel list has not been too happy with Promise's support. In the latest Kernel Traffic, their support is starting to be reintroduced into the kernel proper, with some reservations: "Elsewhere, Andre Hedrick was not so happy. After looking over the code, he complained that it was completely obfuscated, and added that he had severed all ties with Promise."
Linux Creator Linus Torvalds Joins OSDL First OSDL Fellow Will Devote Himself Exclusively to Linux Development
BEAVERTON, OR, and SANTA CLARA, CA, June 17, 2003 â" OSDL, a non-profit, global consortium of leading technology companies dedicated to accelerating the adoption of Linux, and Transmeta Corporation (Nasdaq: TMTA), the leader in efficient computing, today announced that Linus Torvalds, the creator of Linux, will join OSDL as the first OSDL Fellow.
As an OSDL fellow, Linus will work exclusively on leading the development of Linux, the open source software that he created in 1991 as a university student in Finland. Torvalds will dedicate himself now full-time to guiding a distributed team of thousands of Linux developers around the world. At OSDL, he will have hands-on access to its state-of-the-art computing resources and test facility. He will also help set priorities and direction for the Lab's different industry initiatives.
"It feels a bit strange to finally officially work on what I've been doing for the last twelve years, but with the upcoming 2.6.x release it makes sense to be able to concentrate fully on Linux," Torvalds said. "OSDL is the perfect setting for vendor-independent and neutral Linux development."
Be very clear about what you will and won't provide and groundrules: - 3'x3' desktop space (so make sure all your stuff fits on top of that or below) - 1 120 VAC power jack (so bring your own power strip(s)) - No speakers (headphones only) - Bring your own software - Detail recommended software and network config - No food or smoking in the game area
From a large (1500) lan party in Wash DC, IIRC they had issues with lan cabling, so BYOB 50ft of cat5 might not be bad either. Lighting could be an issue. And of course monitors. The DC gig eventually had rentals eventually.
A Gentoo LiveCD is a bootable demonstration of what Gentoo linux would look like on your machine. However, it is not a source compiled installation. But once the LiveCD is booted, you can install a source compiled Gentoo installation.
The "Barcodes: The Number of the Beast" was, IIRC, used in the movie " Naked" in which the protagonist has a major discourse of an impending The End, including a barcode speel.
You saw a normal 35mm print on the IMAX screen through a normal projector. IMAX film is 70mm and is projected through a special projector which feeds film HORIZONTALLY. If I recall correctly, the side feeding was used for space concerns, since the IMAX projector is usually in the center of the audience.
This totally need to be crammed down every voting American's throat. Lather, rinse, repeat.
I've been seeing and ignoring that same message on login on the latest Gaim for about two weeks or so...

Most apprec. I too have a Sony and shot some recent stuff in 16:9. At least I know it ain't gonna work with a i-stuff... :)

Be forewarned.
FYI. In a movie theater, the actual ouput that hits the screen is 16-18 footlamberts.
800 is what you might see from the projector at the bulb. As you move away it will be much less.
And if contrast is what you are concerned with, go with the darkest room, and the smallest screen for the best ratio.

I think the Gentoo guys would love it if you submitted a bug.
There have been a couple of reports of *.iso corruption. So verify your iso using the md5s from the download link

I don't know about the LiveCD, but OldWorld Macs can boot using BootX. http://penguinppc.org/projects/bootx/
At the bottom of their recall web page:
"We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you."
Now *that* is an understatement...

Very True. So the topis title is actually incorrect.
Is this a binary release for x86 servers only? How about a release for SPARC64?
1394 already does 400MB. 1394b however will do up to 3.2GB. 1394ta 1394b
Good, valid, points.
