You're funny. The republicans will back anyone who sponsers them.
And for the record Michael Moore (aka socialist slut) said he didn't care if you d/l'ed his movie. He said he didn't care how you saw it, as long as you saw it. I think he even sponcered a site where you could watch it streamed...
And I think you're confusing Springstein and Metallica.
So movie theaters are *suppose* to start commercials before the movie's official start time. That is to say, if the movie starts at 1:30, and they have 10 min of commercials, they are suppose to start them at 1:20 not at 1:30.
There was a court case (I forget where) where there was a class action suit against AMC or Lowes or somewhere that showed the commercials at the show time. The argument was that people paid to see the movie not advertisements. I don't know if there was a conculsion to the case, but shortly after hearing it a few of the local theaters changed their policy.
Now the commercials start prior to the movie's listed start times. I can't speak for all theaters but AMC and Lowes in Chicago both do this.
And for the record, I've heard from many movie buffs that trailers are part of the movie experience (I tend to agree), and should be shown before your movie...
Yea, they seem to use a lot of covering fire as well. The elites will pin you behind a wall with constant fire while others advance on your position. Pretty cool stuff.
Absolutly! I think it is a great time to buy. The problem is one needs money to buy stock. There is nothing I want to sell to let me buy more. I don't want to really get into my trading habbits / portfolio or anything, so I'll leave it at that.
No problem. Oh, I'm sure they are looking for other sources of revenue. I still think they are opperating in the red (though not by much, perhaps a little more this quarter due to a huge advertising push in some states). Generally this is a no-no when thinking about buying a stock.
The reason I bought it is because they are on the verge of being so great. It is a bit of a risk, but I was hoping to jump in while the getting was good, before the stock took off. As it turns out I got in a litle too early, and have lost a bunch of money.
I still think it is a good company that is ready to hit it big. The timing is the tricky part.
The price drop was due to the break in the relationship between TIVO and DirectTV.
Investors didn't think TIVO could make it without being directly related to a service provider. The sentiment is slowly changing as more and more people suscribe to TIVO independent of DirectTV.
I sure hope it comes back more. I lost my shirt. They had everything going for them until that announcement.
You mean I have to spend 15 - 20 dollars to actually BUY movies? That's BULLSHIT man. Why doesn't the MPAA just bend me over now, it'll be less painfull.
I mean, come on. I'm only getting a 2 hour movie with commentaries from the director and actors, trailers, featurettes, documentaries, and other added features. That isn't worth it. Pfffft...They are screwing me.
Please. Wasn't that the argument before? Why music CDs are bad and DVDs are good? Because you got much more content for the same price. It made sense, you didn't feel ripped off. You know the people involved in making movies got paid, unlike most bands that get crapped on...
But now, everyone is pissed that the MPAA is doing the same thing? Why? It doesn't matter if DVD sales are up and ticket sales are up. YOU ARE STEALING!!! I'll admit I'm not a fan of the RIAA crap. I do feel ripped off with CDs. There are about 20 people needed to make a CD, including the band. There are about 200 needed to make a movie. There is no reason for a CD to cost 15 - 20 dollars...there is every reason for a DVD to.
Listen, I'm all for free distribution of this stuff. If you want to do it, go ahead. Just accept the concequences involved. Stop bitching and move along...nothing to see here.
WE don't need to necessarily chagne the electoral college system via the constitutions.
The states themselves decide how to vote with the electoral votes. They can update their own practicies that says the % of electoral votes coinsides with their popular vote. Colorado was trying to change this.
For example. Lets say state X has 10 votes. 60% of the people voted for Bush, the rest Kerry. Bush would get 6 votes, Kerry 4.
I think this is a lot more fair and would better reflect the minds of the people than the current system. Plus this wouldn't require an update to the constitution.
I wrote this shitty small windows app a few years back. It was just for kicks, something to do with my time. Just last week I thought I'd go in and tweak it, ya know play around with it.
Wow. I have no idea what the hell I was doing cuz I can barly figure out how it all fits together. Granted, it was mostly a hack to begin with and there is no documentation outside of some comments, but yea.
That isn't ture. I'd say most large-scale corporations are pretty good to their employees. Allstate is wonderful. My friend loves working at Intel. I hear MS asks a lot of you, but you are more than compensated. I hear the same about Google.
The fact of the matter is it shouldn't be this way and the only way to change it will be to get the word out.
It is a vicious cycle. New grad comes out of college that wants to make games. They are super talented, so they get a job. 1 - 2 years later after their social life is totally ruined and they are burned out they quit and join normal corporate america. Then the next generation of college grads come in. etc...
That is only the case if you are still in the atmosphere. The shuttle does not do constant burns to maintain orbit.
In a frictionless environment, you will maintain your velocity indefinitely. So, once your reach the right speed, you essentially "fall" back to the earth at the same speed that you are shooting away from it... Hence you orbit and are weightless.
I'm not familiar with where 'space' actually starts, nor where the atmosphere 'disappears', but it sounds like that is right about the distance they need to get to.
You ignore the fact that 48% of the people who voted, people NOT from rural America, people NOT from the far Christian right, did NOT vote for Bush.
That's right. The exact number escapes me, but something like 45 million people wanted Bush out of the office. 48 million voted for him which is sad, I agree.
But thank you for assuming that all Americans want this. Thank you for missing the fact that nearly half of America is upset at how things turned out. Thank you for assuming that any American you meet is one that voted for Bush.
If fact, if you meet an American who is traveling, odds are they voted for Kerry. Why? 1) Rural America likes Bush due to... moral reasons. Decoded that means they liked his stance on gay marriage, which is the stupidest reason to vote for a leader in the history or history. 2) Rural America doesn't travel abroad. That takes money and generally intelligence. Most of rural America has neither. 3) People from cities like Chicago, New York, Boston, SF, LA, Miami, etc... These are the people that voted for Kerry. These are the people more apt to travel. These are the people you will most likley meet.
So instead of making a broad judgement on all Americans realize that the USA has never been so split in its history (except perhaps the civil war). This split will not be healed easily.
Place you hatred where it is due. You hating all Americans is equivolent to me hating all Muslims because of 9/11 and other terrorist acts.
Please get all the facts before making up your mind. That is all I ask.
Most exit polls showed that the reason people voted for Bush was they believed in his morals more than Kerry. Polls showed that people agreed with Kerry on domestic issues like spending, and health care...
So apparently Americans care more about gay marraige than getting good health care, or their job being outsourced, or the way the US is viewed by the rest of the world, or keeping big business in check, etc...
Very sad. I want to move to England right about now.
In defence of America, almost all the people in cities voted for Kerry, and rural America voted for Bush. Sad.
That is just the whole thing. He hasn't quit. If for some wacky reason the final vote count has Mr. Kerry as the winner, then he is in fact the winner.
All indications, however, indicate (funny how indications indicate) that "W" will get 4 more years.
If it did turn out this way (Kerry winning), I'm sure a lot of pro Bush supporters will start whining that Kerry conceded. Remember Gore made the 'concession' call to Bush in 2000 too... we see how well that held up in the days following the election.
You did hit pretty close to home, btw. I am a big Kerry supporter (though i think there are better candidates out there than both K and "W"), and this whole campaign the facts around him have been distorted and squewed. (He voted 1 billion times to raise your taxes and voted 983 thousand times to kill babies... please:) And this is just another example.
From the sound bits I've heard I never once heard him 'conceding' to Bush. I'm also sure he didn't say that in his phone call. He probably said "Looks like you got it "W". It was a close race. Congrats." Then Bush probably stood there for 30 seconds trying to figure out who it was... But that is besides the point.:)
1st of all, he did not concede. What he did was call the president to congradulate him on his win. This is tradition...he isn't really conceding...it is just what they call the phone call.
2nd, there are not enough uncounted ballots to swing the election to his favor. Bush's lead is big enough that even if all of the uncounted ballots are for Kerry, he still can't carry the state.
I know this is flamebait, but if this is a negative trait, then I guess I like negative people.
It's not that Kerry was the best candidate we could muster... There is a thing called "Primary" elections, which are totally flawed. Most of the time the 'better' candidate is over-looked in these.
Look back to 4 years ago. McCain lost to Bush in the primaries. I've said it before and I'll say it again, McCain is one rebublican I can get behind. He would have been an excellent president. The world would not be in the state it is now with him there. But alas.
Regardless, the DNP has a few excellent people that are on the verge greatness in the publics eye. It is just too soon for them to take the stage right now. Look for Obama and Hilary to take the stage soon.
Troll: 1
You: 0
score, I win!

Pee on the troll. In the confusion steal his axe and chop him up into tiny bits.

Oh well. Good luck!
I actually own the TIVO stock.
Just to clarify my position. The lawsuits I'm more or less ok with... the program that "sniffs" out these files and deletes them I'm not.
That is bad, and I don't think that will hold up in the legal system...at least one can only hope.
You mean I have to spend 15 - 20 dollars to actually BUY movies? That's BULLSHIT man. Why doesn't the MPAA just bend me over now, it'll be less painfull.

No. Why waste time in states that won't sway the election?
WI won't. Ohio will. If they find Ohio for kerry this time around, expect Bush to want a recount in PA...
What we need is a better voting system. The electorial college is crap. It needs to be updated.
In Soviet Russia, the quarterback sacks YOU!
That's the best kind of code!
:)

Following software processes is key.

Cheney won't run because he can't win. He's seen as an old grumpy grandpa...
Look for (I'm going to butcher the spelling here) Rudolf Guliani to run in '08 against Hilary Clinton.
Obama will probably run after a few terms in the Senate if all goes well.
Yes, thank you for being pety and ignorant.

Maybe I'm move to Canada. What do you guys think aboot that, eh? See, I could fit in.

Wow. Well that does change things. The estimates I've heard are much different. I heard there were less than 100,000.
I stand corrected. Bad Kerry!

All I can say is I'm sorry. I tired. I voted for Kerry. I convinced as many people as i could to vote for Kerry, but unfortunatly it wasn't enough.
I only pray that he doesn't alienate us too much over the next four years and that our next president can repair the damage.
Apparently there are more stupid Americans than I thought.
Maybe I'll move to England. Good people, good beer... sounds pretty nice.
