  3. Sporting events on Live or Memorex? · · Score: 1

Certain networks have been doing this with sporting event broadcasts for quite some time now. I saw a special on it about a year ago in which they found a logo (I think it was Coke), then stretched it and made it fit on a certain part of the ballpark.
Every single shot of the logo (near or far or on weird angles) showed what it would look like as if you were at the game itself. It was nearly impossible to tell the difference. Then they showed a split screen of an actual game - one with no 'branded' logos, one with branded logos. Even after commercial breaks, the logos changed.
The whole concept is pretty cool... However... I'd probably freak if there was some bizarre occurance in which the software screwed up. For example, if a (branded) Veterans Stadium wall collapsed (which has happened), what would happen to the logo? Would it stay there? Would it disappear? Curious, as you know the camera would not turn away from an incident like that.

  4. Re:Idiot Review on Review: Man On The Moon · · Score: 1

Larry Flynt may be a pornmonger, but he also had the balls to stand up for what he believed in. It wasn't sex he believed in. It was the freedom of speech/expression he believed in. He fought long and hard for these things and refused to back down - something most Americans would not do.
Woody Harrelson's representation of Larry Flynt was excellent. It was also a very intriguing movie, although it lacked a few important details.
Now, in relation to Man on the Moon, no movie 'biography' of any person is going to be 100% complete. Yet MotM lacked very important developments of Kaufman which made the movie sub par.

Interesting review, but you seem to not know all that much about Andy Kaufman, except for what was in the movie. I have always admired Kaufman for what he did, and the way he did it. The movie did Andy Kaufman a mediocre amount of justice. Bits and pieces here and there, but never the full scoop. I'm aware that by simply summarizing his most notable accomplishments that it limited the movie to slightly over 2 hours.
But that's what plagued the movie. It went from him being a young boy to being a comic. Nothing in between. And when they tried to recreate Taxi, I almost walked out. Few attempts were made to make it look like Taxi, side the construction of the set. The few cast members they managed to squeeze into the movie are OLD. Then again, they've aged 20 some years since then. I'm not surprised that Judd Hirsch wasn't in it.
I have never been a Jim Carrey fan. I personally find him unamusing. The only part he played well, and what most people still go apeshit over is one line:
    "Tank you vedy much"
After the movie I promptly got out my Kaufman tapes and pretty much completed the movie. There was one key difference with watching Kaufman rather than Carrey.
    I laughed.

I saw the movie last night and wasn't all that impressed. I had (female) friends crying because it was so darn scary. A theater employee that I know poked me last night when the credits came on in an attempt to scare me. Then she couldn't believe how I wasn't jumpy or freaked out at all. On a scale of 1-10 of scariness, I'd give it a 5. Maybe a 4. But what made this movie very interesting was the fact that it's fiction, yet was made out to be true. Even theater employees (in some chains anyway) were told to lie when asked, "Is this for real?!" But what I learned AFTER the movie freaked me out more than the movie itself. The whole GPS factor, the care packages they received, and the true fright involved... In addition to they themselves being taped from far away, unbenownst to them. I will probably go back to see it again just because of these things that were not so obvious. I would have to say that this is the most original movie I've seen in many years.

However, most resources simply show how to clear the board w/ getting all the bonus fruit. Most of them would be too complex to explain how to eat all blue/flashing ghosts. ((200+400+800+1600)*4) per screen...
Then again, after a certain key (nice fruit. heh.) level, the ghosts don't turn blue again, much like Ms Pacman right before the 3rd babyPac intermission.

In any rate, even if NT is a little bit faster, I'd still run Linux, because in the long run, Linux DOES have the edge in overall performance. Linux doesn't crash for no reason. Linux doesn't require a reboot every x days to keep itself happy.

I had 3 Amigas in my heyday of Amiga-geekdom. I had to give them up because it became impossible to find a place (locally) that would repair them on the offchance they needed repair.
The (Commodore) Amiga architecture was so much better than typical IBM compatible PCs. OS/2 was tons better than Windows.
What killed them both? IBM killed OS/2. Commodore killed Amiga. Period.

I do that with my VCR now without needing a phone line because I know what's on and know how to program my VCR. So will the TiVo box not work if I don't plug a phone cord into it regardless of the fact I know exactly when a program is on?
