    Sometimes you ppl amaze me. What if bill thinks IE isnt as good firefox, do you really expect him to say so? I dont know about you but as a exec i would assume that its just a good idea to not bash your products /admit your products are inferior. I mean this is about a company, thier product, and in the end the money. Right?

    If you leave the house you will get sick. The is holes in everything. The added value of open source is the ability to patch the system quickly. If Linux had 70% of the desktop market share you would see more viruses for it. But they hole they exploit would be fixed quicker. The question really becomes getting ppl to update thier machines. That really is more fo the problem. Im sure there are plenty of unpatched systems out there spreading nimda.

    Being a manager takes a certian style. There are a couple of ver different work personalities and what some like others do not. Being a manager is more about being able to read ppl. You have to understand your grunts and know how to motivate them, what to expect of them, and how much you can drive them. Its more of a life skill then a book skill, IMHO.

    It took long enough. But on the bright side, maybe they really are ramping up support for thier product. I know alot of you are going to rip MS but hey they didnt have to do this, its not like they are losing thier desktop OS to anyone. If thier PR campaign ends up working well for thier users, i say good show.

    What ive always heard from managment "No one ever got fired for picking Microsoft" Thats how they will continue to look at it. If microsofts solution fails "oh well its MS we have no other choice". If something other than MS is used and fails "why the hell didnt you use MS?"

    Yeah but there is a fine line here. In reality its the smae thing, but companys rarely say "We need you to work overtime", they say Dec 10th is your deadline we need it by then. You dont have to make the deadline but miss enough and they has a reason to fire you. I know it sucks but, If you dont like it get another job. They have the right to drive ppl to the most out of them, on the other hand the employee has the right to quit.

    In other news people who build thier own computers have Linux or a pirated version of windows on it a majority of the time also. Why not attack the ppl who build thier own boxen?
    Oh thats right they only attack the machines sold with linux cuz they have linux on them.

    I AMD has caught up to intel a couple of times in the desktop market only to fall back again. Could this be the time that they leapfrog over Intel and be far and away leader in a market? One could only hope. In a tech world of dominate players (Intel, MS) its nice to see the underdog win with a superior product.

    You dont know the half of it, Philly is run by the unions, this will be the biggest problem with an idea like this.

    For example the Real World ( I hate MTV BTW) almost didnt shoot in Philly cuz the union wouldnt let them unless the used union workers for everything. Building the sets and the apartment, everything. It was a stalemate for a while.

    Not to mention that the Philly mayors office is currupt.

    There wont be any money savings from this trust me.

    I believe those bags are called Booster Bags and the are a felony to possess, in PA at least. My sister works in a retail outlet and they have caught ppl using them. Throw clothing in bag walk out store no annoying alarms.

    that walmart has to enter the fray. Who needs compition. If walmart does a good job netflix will either (a) provide better business (b) become cheaper (c) go out of business.
    Didnt i see an article that older customers at netflix get screwed on new releases?

    Since these name (Firebird, Thunderbird, etc.) are only codenames from what i understand, why not drop the codenames and use the names that the final product is going to go buy: Mozilla Browser project and Mozilla Email project. Its impossible to recomend anyone to use a great product if the name changes twice a month!
