Ever since the Senate became popularly elected, courtesy of the abomination known as the 17th Amendment, no, it isn't.
The Senate is no better than the House of Representatives, and hasn't been for almost a century now. It is ABSOLUTELY no coincidence that the majority of the federal governments usurpation of state power has occurred since its passage.
And yet, she specifically targeted the Bridge to Nowhere and had it killed. She gunned for Ted Stevens and has had quite a bit to do with going after the corruption within the Alaska state GOP.
She's running some of the highest approval numbers of any governor in the history of the country. Somehow, I have a feeling that she actually TRIES to do the things she says she'll do.
That said - Ted Stevens needs to stuffed under a fucking rock. He sucks.
And non-believers want to force their beliefs down the believers throats.
It really does go both ways, whether you like, or agree, with their side or not, BOTH should be presented and discussed.
That said, there are appropriate forums for certain topics and the debates surrounding those topics, and a Philosophy of Science course (or something similar) may be a more appropriate place for the evolution vs creationism discussion than a Biology lab.
The business account contains a couple features that you DON'T get with the residential connection - 1. an actual SLA. 2. a =static= IP address. Not the virtually static DHCP IP you get normally. 3. explicit agreement to allow you to run servers (which you do NOT get with the residential). 4. QOS precedence (ie. the residential accounts get throttled before you do).
Yes, it's mostly 'getting legal', but if you're going to run a business of of a cable account, it really does make sense to just pony up the cash.
And I would KILL for Comcast where I am now. Time Warner fucking sucks.
That explicit permission was given when the client asked the hosting provider to 'fix it'.
Further, as already mentioned in prior posts, the support staff may have gone into the database because they noticed that postfix (or whatever the hell he's using) was configured to use mysql on the backend for storing the authentication tables.
this is -very- common for folks doing virtual email hosting and webmail accounts.
We don't have all of the information here, but I'm betting this is a whole lot more innocuous than the poster wants us to believe.
It fully depends on the state, and even the locale.
There are a LOT of Castle Doctrine areas now where it is perfectly legal to shoot someone as long as they are in your home, and you feel threatened.
Lethal force is always justified in the defense of one's home. Period. Be it the property or the people inside. If someone is inside my home, they are a danger to me and mine, and I will neutralize that danger by whatever means =I= see fit.
Which you would be right about if they hadn't, in the executive summary, pointed out that SCOTUS and the US Code holds that the 'militia' consists of every able bodied citizen in the country.
Some of us actually read most of the ruling, rather than redacted summaries highlighting the portions of the ruling that partisan interests wanted to bang their drums about.
It isn't so much two parties, it's that we expect a House of Representatives consisting of 435 people to be able to represent their constituents properly. The 17th Amendment (which really, really, really needs to be repealed) gutted the purpose of the Senate, which was to provide the state governments a seat at the legislative table in Washington. The Senate, as a body of 100 persons presently, 2 per state, I have no issue with.
It is the HoR that should better represent the people and their interests, and that will only be possible if it becomes truly representative again, and the number of persons covered by each representative is cut from some 730k to 100k.
Yes. I am advocating a HoR with 3000 members (give or take). And before going off on the costs, compared to the rest of the federal budget, this would quite literally be a drop - I believe it was estimated that it would cost some 5bil more per year for salaries for the additional Congress persons, plus their staffs.
There would be IMMENSELY more red-tape within the legislative process - bills would have to go through several committee levels before making it to a floor vote. Which is fine by me. This alone would put the focus back on the STATES to govern themselves, per the 10th Amendment, rather than leaving everything up to Uncle Sam.
If you think that realtors only do 10 hours of work to sell a given home, then you are a naive dumbass.
The realtor that I engaged to try to sell my home in MD not only took a -smaller- commission, but also dropped $4 figures out of her own pocket to pay for the advertising and other fees/costs associated with listing and marketing the home.
Do you -really- believe that all they do is post homes to the MLS and then sit on their asses jerking off? Yes, you have experience with some dipshits who got in it for the money. Big whoop. You're just as big a dipshit for believing that all realtors are like those, rather than realizing that there are a lot out there that =are= honest, and trying to do the right thing by the buyers and sellers.
Is 3% too much? Considering what my realtor paid out of her pocket to help me try to sell mine, no, it's not.
Sounds to me like you started off as an Orc or Troll.
Their starting area (Durotar) is -deliberately- barren - it's supposed to be. The Orcs were driven into one of the more desolate parts of the world after the second war, since it was about the only place they could find some peace and quiet. If you want cool shiny graphics and lots of eye candy, start off with a Blood Elf. Even the Tauren area is pretty neat (but then, I -really- dig the American Indian 'flavor' to the lore around that race).
But that all said - it doesn't get fun until you start making friends, or play with friends. A good friend of mine quit the game entirely recently because most of her IRL friends quit playing, or moved to different guilds/servers.
It's the people that make the game fun. And WoW has a lot of 'em.
The wikipedia article points out that there's a lot of discussion/argument/fighting over the shutdown, due to the increasing costs of fossil fuels. I'd be remiss if I didn't also mention that a significant minority of Germany's power now comes from Wind, but it is in NO means anywhere near enough to cover the total needs (it would need to produce some 10 times its current capacity, or more, to do so).
However, they are still required to file the appropriate paperwork by the deadline.
And by the sounds of things, neither McCain nor Obama had.
By law, both should be off the ballot. Like others, I agree that it probably won't happen that way.
Unfortunately.

This isn't about OpenSource.
It's about making sure that the device providing so-called scientific evidence for use at trial is producing evidence properly and -accurately-.
I'm surprised it isn't already on the books that source code for devices such as this be disclosed for that purpose already.
Then move.
It's really quite simple - you don't like the way things are run, you can either try to change them, within the political process, or you can move.
Stop being a whiny little bitch on Slashdot about it.
Then your teacher was a douche and in the wrong.
Try barely 3 years in the senate.
Doing basically nothing.
Obama's 47.
If you believe that the Washington Post is no friend to Democrats, then you obviously do not read the same paper I did growing up in the DC area.
They've never met a Democrat they didn't like. INCLUDING Marion Barry.
The Washington TIMES, on the other hand...

Uuuh, no.
Great attempt at spreading mis-information.

I've already had one recruiter hit me up in the last couple weeks.
Professional Networking is, honestly, an even better way to keep relevant positions close by. So's keeping the names/numbers of favored recruiters :)

Which is precisely the idea behind amending the Constitution.
If they ruled something un-Constitutional, then there's nothing stopping someone from trying to make it Constitutional by Amending it.
Duh?

Companies are, however, outsourcing email services to more robust, PAID services that provide fully functional integration with Outlook and Exchange.
Run far, far away from Plesk.
It might simplify SOME things, but it sure as hell makes other things more difficult.

Neither are you.
The only thing that they can really replace them with is coal or LNG.

I'm dealing with an application right now that makes the latter assumption.
I'm rewriting the entire backend database because using an MMAPed binary file for your live data is just asking for trouble.
