It's a common problem with Firefox and Slashdot, caused by bad HTML on Slashdot's end I believe. Funny thing is how it only happens occasionally, for me anyway.

Even when I used IE it didn't crash that much, unless my win install was pooched.

Why the hell would you use a browser that crashes 3 times a day then?

More stable than Firefox? I find that hard to believe, since I've been using Firefox for ages and have yet to have it crash.
Agreed...in linux I had good luck with it, and TVTime is nice software to use with it, but I didn't ever get recording to work for some reason...
If they want to include crappy software, go for it. But like I said in my original post they REFUSED to help Snapstream fix the problems they had so the Snapstream software would work with it, so effectively they're forcing me to use said crappy software in Windows.
Don't ever buy Leadtek. I had the 2000 XP tuner card, and had absolutely nothing but trouble with it. But it wasn't just me...two of my friends got the same card as well at the same time, as they were on sale, and had exactly the same problems as me.
First, the software sucks. 50% of the time the OSD doesn't work. I would regularly get the stereo channel out one speaker and the SAP channel out of the other. Sometimes I'd totally lose audio and have to reboot to fix it. While those are pretty minor problems, the absolute worst was recording. Basically, it never worked. I would depend on the software to record courses I was taking that were broadcast on my university's cable channel, and most of the time it down right didn't record anything. I totally gave up on it. And this wasn't just an issue with one version of their PVR software...this was a problem in every version I tried over the two or more years I had that card. The customer support was atrocious...basically they didn't ever answer my, or my friends, questions about the failing recording. And I won't even get into the horrible sound effects during the software installation, or the stupid blinking (!!) lights around the border of the viewing window.
Then I wanted to get Snapstream's software, because it looked really sweet. Guess what...Leadtek refused to help them resolve issues they had with their cards, so Snapstream couldn't support the Leadtek cards at all. Finally I broke down, spent the money on one of the Snapstream bundles that came with a PCI Hauppauge! card, and have had no problems at all with it.
Under "Recommended Accessories" they have a Logitech wheel mouse for $50. Insanity, considering the same mouse can be bought at any computer store for like $20CDN.
I work for a company that got affected by this. Instead of my payroll deposit coming in last night, it will be sometime today, which doesn't affect me as much, but people with automatic mortgage and car payments might get screwed...
Has anyone installed red-carpet on a Debian (unstable) machine, and what kind of luck have you had? How did you do it? Install the official RPMs, make your own debs, etc? Thanks.
Ahhhh I see where you were going now. Sorry, I misunderstood. You're absolutely correct then...if someone takes my code they don't have any right to license and release it in any way, so as the copyright holder I *should* have the right to reclaim my stolen code. But again, the damage is already done since the code is out.
Aren't you reading his post pretty selectively? You're reading it as *anything* posted on the net *must* be free. He's saying it should be made so that GPL code posted can't be taken back.
I don't necessarily agree with him either, since I believe that as long as all contributers to the source are in agreement, they can change the license it is released under. Is this right? If so, there really should be no way to stop them from posting the code, then pulling it and changing the license. Sure, the damage is done since the source is out, but future versions (if there are any) won't be available under the GPL.
This is going to cause havok for every person that runs their own safe smtp server at home (like I do).
There's already some email services that use spam blockers that will not accept mail sent from IP addresses which are known to be DHCP blocks for large ISPs, since they just assume that such traffic is either virus or spam related, but it's a bitch for me. Now that any Joe Schmoe can run this crap, I can see far more spam blocking services go the same way, and I'll be stuck using my ISPs notoriously unreliable smtp server again.
Or you could try it this way...

The working link is actually http://www.boston.com/ae/games/articles/2004/11/22 /half_life_sequel_enters_exciting_new_territory?mo de=PF. And I agree with the other reply that the reviews don't seem that similar.
It's something like GDesklets for Gnome.
I wouldn't consider a tiny banner for Suicide Girls, which doesn't even contain any nudity, to be a pornographic ad.
Touche ;)
Except that the user that posted the names of those games was a guy. That doesn't meet my definition of a "hot goth chick."

Apparently not.
I think this article would make more sense after native operating system support for Mt. Rainier is available.
It only took me about 3 minutes...it slowed down near the end to about 20kBps, but that's not too bad.

So my advice is avoid Leadtek at all costs.
