If you take into acount what I already have "stolen from the monopoly", I must say I'm in compliance, too (if not: sorry, bought a Dell with Windows pre-installed). Hint: df says I have 400 meg free diskspace on a 20GB HD.

On a sidenote, is it still possible to return the Windows CD's (unopened) to get your money back, or did microsoft change their policy?

I installed it too, it took me three days but I learned a lot, and it's really nice to have it boot for the first time (I didn't get an ograsm though :)). I don't use it on my desktop, just on the router - not doing anything else. But it's too much a hassle for me to manage/upgrade packages - I like Debian better. Does anyone care to share some hints on that? e.g., I would like something like this:

    [program] -l logfile make install

that dumps all files created by make install.

What they do have is an indication. If you are sceptical about this, you've never noticed that under certain weather conditions, the jet stripes do not easily disapear and form a sort of mist.

A dutch scientific magazine(Natuur&Techniek) had an article about that some months ago. It described a DIY experiment where you could determine the temperature at high altitudes from the type of aircraft and the width of the stripe. There were some nice pictures of a jet-stripe filled skie. I don't have it at hand, though. Did anyone else read it?

Are you serious? When did 'dangerous' become 'illegal'? And when did you get to decide what's dangerous and what not? Is crossing the road illegal? It can be quite dangerous you know!

Anyway, I've visited some amateur rocket launches and I can tell you safety measures are strict. When you know what can go wrong, you have the key to make it safe, wheither it's about crossing the road or handling explosives. (I've still got all my fingers!)
