Ah sorry, I thought it was a standard unix tool. I had to use it on my laptop running linux to get the screen to come back up after it was turned off by power management (the only way to get it to come back on was to switch to a VT and then back to X, I wrote a script to run chvt to do this and had it triggered by xlockmore and it worked like a charm).
Please at least read the article summary, relevant bit: "recently acquired new managers, reportedly loyal to Vladimir Putin." Loyal to him, not legally bound to do what he says to him.
Whoa, you spelled a lot of words wrong. Can you please post a reply to me saying, "I hate to state the obvious, but I doubt the parent realizes I was spelling the words wrong on purpose?"
Oh please DO NOT DO THAT. By showing outrage at someone mentioning that worse things have happened, you ARE making it so that the next guy who goes on a spree isn't dissuaded by the fact that he probably can't make it into the top 3; he/she won't be dissuaded because they will know that after they go through with it they will have a LIVELY audience in people like YOU, who will be OUTRAGED and PAY ATTENTION TO THEM and argue about anything they can.
Huh? Tv shows are around 23 minutes, with 7 minutes of commercials, or roughly 30% commercials. And you think 1 minute is too much for 5 minutes? (I personally think ANY is too much, but I wouldn't say it is for everyone)
Since the IRS requires receipts, damn near all of them. The IRS has completely sidestepped innocent until proven guilty, by making 'not proving yourself innocent' a crime which they can easily prove you guilty of, thus sidestepping the constitution.
"A private firm can turn down an offer, but a full public company has to go to its shareholders."
A private firm must go to its shareholders as well.
First, life occurs in nature. Second, it doesn't have anything to do with anti-entropy.

But any kernel mode drivers Toshiba shipped had to go through Microsoft's certification program, so the blame still ultimately falls there.
Take a look at the command chvt, and you may be able to script it and put the script as a button on your panel/dock/whatever.
And I'm sure you do, Mr. 867045.
A one line script does the trick, name it kplayer and put it in ~/bin (and put ~/bin at the top of your $PATH):
/usr/bin/kplayer
#!/bin/sh
nice -n -19 ionice -c 1
HOW DARE YOU? It is called GNU/Ogg, not Ogg.

>Getting back to photo manipulation and the hypothetical grandmom, what about using face recognition to correctly tag each person in each picture?
Is it gonna kill the world if that isn't available *right now* and instead runs in the background for a while>
And that article was totally wrong. Anti-matter generated from a particle collider is by far the most expensive substance known.

Thanks, Nerd Version of Jeff Foxworthy.
Then they would be copying Nintendo, who released a motion-sensing controller for the gamecube and called it a Wii.
I don't think any one other than you is talking about private schools.
I'll just chime in with 'it happened to me'.

You mean tomatoes.
"The margins on a $500 phone are much higher than a computer or operating system"
I think Microsoft, with near 100% margins and distribution handled largely by Dell, et al, would beg to differ.
Didn't AOL get sued for doing something similar to that?

>Part of the deal is that, because the power companies are granted a monopoly by the public, they have to publicize all transactions they undertake.
Bullshit; I can't see my neighbor's power bill.
Well, as a compromise I guess we could say it constantly wastes battery life searching for other Zune.
