Why do you assume a reboot? Start out class with a book on your desk. Realize the teacher is covering the same thing yesterday. Pull out laptop and boot it.
Even if they did it tomorrow it wouldn't be earth shattering; especially to businesses. This is because Microsoft has a long vested interest in continuing to support beige boxes--if apple switched tomorrow no business would wanna jump in for fear that they might switch back to not supporting beige boxes the day after tomorrow. Nothing would happen in the business world until Apple proved that they would stick with this strategy by becoming financially dependent upon it.
If it was sitewide it would be a huge mess, as anyone who has dealt with merging changes in a version control system knows. Two people see an outdated page, because they newest version isn't flagged safe yet. They both make changes. You now have a diverging tree. This can happen today with Wikipedia but it is rare enough not to discourage people from contributing. If this policy was sitewide (it isn't) this would, as I said, be a huge mess.
They make all this money and blow it on things like the xbox and on stupid (well it was great, but I mean stupid financially) training videos feature stars from the British 'The Office'. The street would rather them give bigger dividends than literally burn their money.
"chances are good that there were factors in the SH suits that resulted in firings that you weren't privy to"
The fact that you boldly assumed there was even a suit shows how little you know about this. Most firings are not the result of suits. They are the results of claims, even if it never would go to court. "He asked me to lunch one time and I felt uncomfortable." That wouldn't qualify as sexual harrassment in court but that can, and has, gotten people fired.
Oh ok, I see how it is. Bash alien believeing religions, that's just good clean fun. Bash all religion, get bitched out. I seem to remember some crazy 'outer space' Star of Bethlehem from some religion.. maybe I should have mentioned that and hinted at aliens and I'd be sitting at +5.
To be fair, you could store a cdr/w in the center Yucca Mountain and I still wouldn't consider it a safe place. (hint: by place I'm not referring to Yucca Mountain...)
I'd probably say nay on the strangling people thing.. lots of people die like that (though it is usually when they do it to themselves). This wouldn't be some freedom of expression issue.. it would be like seatbelt laws.
Very interesting. While I don't think all the equipment should be replaced to meet the artic temperature thing, I think that the problem should be noted, and the contractor should have to pay some reimbursement for not meeting all the terms of the contract. Some number of ships should be retrofitted, but it may be a big waste to do it with all of them
"but I'm surprised that it has taken people so long to figure this out, much less write a news article about it." It hasn't taken long. Ultima Online was the first really successful MMORPG and it came out almost 10 years ago. It was skill based.
Is that really how it works? I've heard otherwise. You are saying that when you launch an app it searches the whole app tree for newer versions of the library (or is there some symlink magic going on)?
I bet you were one of those kids in Philosophy 101 that slowed the whole class down and made everyone angry because they couldn't grasp the meaning of "hypothetical situation".
Because as Christopher Reeve can tell you, horseback is safe. You are safer crossing the country by plane than by horseback even if terrorist attacks went up 10,000%.

All it sounds like to me is a great way to get kicked out of a class.
WoW has already had more subscriber months than UO in a far shorter time. So, in a very real sense, they don't have to turn 10.

Both buttons at the same time == middle button with any reasonable setup.

But the synergy they provide *makes* them technically qualified. Synergy is the most important thing in IT. Females have innate synergistic auras.
What the hell do you think a swinger's club is?
Especially when you consider that one of the major markets for consoles, Japan, just isn't buying the thing.
Perhaps he forgot his surveying equipment.

I've heard Tony Blair watched Winston Churchill movies before he sent troops to Iraq; we should ban Winston Churchill movies.
Did you print out his post before you replied to it?
I haven't seen one linux ad that makes it clear that it is an OS. They always seem to be really abstract and not tell anyone anything.

'UFO religions like the Scientologists or heaven's gate.'
You forgot Christianity, Islam, Hindu, and many more religions.

So if it block EM, how does light get in?
