Mod the parent up. So many people and companies say they want smarts but what they really want is a narrowly defined skill set.

To Mr. Gates: there are plenty of smart people out there. They may not have the exact skill set you're looking for so spend some of that cash M$ is hoarding and train them.

Perhaps you should read slowly next time...

The founding fathers did not need a 2nd amendment to overthrow the British because they were rebelling, an inherently illegal act. Hey, what do you know? The 2nd amendment wasn't even around until after the American Revolution ended. Imagine that!

    Is the fog lifting yet?

It's not there so people can protect their property from criminals. It's not there so we can all hunt with them. It's there so the citizens can protect themselves from their own oppressive government. Thats the last resort of our system of checks and balances.

What color is the sky in your world? Are you seriously suggesting that armed rebellion against the government is a right guaranteed by the constitution? Think about it before you answer. "Oh, you want to forcibly overthrow the government? Well, it's allowed in the constitution so I guess we can't do anything to stop you." Yes, that must be what the founding fathers had in mind.

Because in this country we actually have parents so stupid that they can't differentiate betweeen the letters "G", "PG", and "R". Apparently these stupid parents plop their children in front of a PG-rated movie and are shocked to find out that it is not completely suitable for their children. Having not enough sense to exercise their parental guidance in the first place, they now look to someone else to provide the guidance they couldn't. Since the right feels that the government should legislate morality, the government is the logical choice for them.

So true. One off the things that tickled me about EZT was the notion of "liberating" boots. People would take boots that were being sold and "liberate" them by posting them on free EZT. Now that EZT is gone, I hope the record companies will be happier that the for-profit bootleggers are back in business.

In a perfect world, yes. However, many people like to incrementally bid up items. They'll keep bidding until they're ahead. Dumb, yes, but it happens. To take advantage of them you can snipe them. Since they haven't put in their max, just the highest bid, you can snipe them to get the item for less than their max. Most times I don't bother but I sniped a very nice Fender Stratocaster this way.
