I don't care how pretty it is it cannot compare to the Logitech Optical Wireless Trackman. I have owned just about every iteration of Microsofts' Mice. I bought a wireless TrackMan (fingerball/ not Thumb Ball.) I bought the MS Trackball and it was unusable, I gave it away. I have one of the MS Explorer PLus mice and it is very nice. But for $30 off of ebay (refurbed)the TrackMan cannot be beat. It has a ton of usable buttons all over and is really a smooth fit to the hand. Funny thing though they are hard as Heck to find in stores anymore. I bought them for every manned machine in the house, the unmanned, work machines have the left over MS mice to use.

I think that everyone is missing the point entirely. The RIAA has become a Juggernaught, and like any other Organisation or being want to continue in its' existence. It has created jobs for like minded people, and employs quite a few I imagine. So in these trying employment times, they are going to continue this fight for one simple reason. $$$ I imagine they make quite a nice little salary out of all this. It's the same as Governmental employment, once you're in you're in. I bet alot of these are figuring on using the RIAA to springboard them into something else, never realizing themselves for the carrion that they really are. It's nice and Dandy that the Music Industry doesn't go after Price fixing, gouging and racketeering as well or they would have to exercise their tactics on themselves. The difference between the Music Industry and a regular thief? The Music Industry has a SteamRoller for a legal Team, aand the Regular Joe File Swapper is swinging in the breeze all by thier lonesome. In the end the RIAA will do what it does, because everytime it launches a case and gets press coverage, it ensures that someone is keeping a JOB.
Can't I just say to Hell with it, strike out and make some obviously "Lame" patents and get filthy rich. Sell my Patent Portfolio, get even more filthy rich. I do not care if they are later overturned. I want to get rich now. I mean we can all cry about how Lame and pathetic it all is but in actuality, they are getting rich, and 90% of the folks here want to get rich just as well. If ya don't then I call you a liar Sir/ Madam. Everyone wants a piece of the Pie, to invent the Next Big Thing or somehow make thier stamp on Society, the World, the Universe. For every action there is an equal, and opposite reaction. (In general) It goes to figure 1 SUV clobbering another, the damage should be roughly as dangerous as 2 mini's or compacts clobbering each other. I have a Bronco II, and while it may not be the biggest of SUV's, I know it is sometimes squirrely in a whip turn or fast lane change. I compensate by using bigger (wide) tires, and do not have it so high in the air. I do not propose an arms race. Lets face facts as facts, the only safe Automobile is a Non Moving one, and actually that cannot be applied. I would much rather be in the Big, Heavy object in a crash, no matter bumper height. I guess we could be really safe and encase all vehicles in foam rubber. Want to see my facts? "NEW CRASH TEST RESULTS: SMALL SUV FROM TOYOTA IS 1ST TO EARN 'DOUBLE BEST PICK' DESIGNATION FOR BOTH FRONT AND SIDE CRASHWORTHINESS
ARLINGTON, VA -- The 2004 Toyota RAV4 equipped with optional side airbags is the first vehicle to earn good ratings and "best pick" designations for both front and side impact crashworthiness tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety -- a "double best pick."The Institute rates vehicles on how well they protect occupants in front and side crashes, assigning each vehicle a rating of good, acceptable, marginal, or poor. The better performers among the good vehicles in front and side tests are designated "best picks." Vehicles that earn "best pick" designations in both tests are "double best picks." and this is from the Insurance Institute for Safety. I could Google some more for ya if you like?
I guess what it comes down to, is that you either like and want to own a SUV or you do not.
It actually assumes that Efficient vehicles, will somehow not be up to the same standards as all vehicles that are on the road. All vehicles must meet a minimum standard for crash survival. Be equiped with safety equipment, and whatnot. The statement is inherantly biased, why wasn't (Insert generic Automobile refference here) mentioned. Being T-boned by a Prius, or Honda Hybrid at that speed, and under those same conditions would probably have resulted in the same thing. Merely the mention of Hummer or any SUV is the bias in action. Also, why should I as a SUV owner, be penalized or predjudiced againt because I choose to drive a safer vehicle, than someone driving a small car? You have a choice to accept a small car with low bumper, or Big SUV with high bumper. If you know that there is a more than likely chance of getting creamed by an SUV's bumper, in an accident the be proactive, safe and get yourself and SUV. If you do not and want to be efficient, then accept the consequences and possibilities, that should you meet up with an SUV and you might get killed.I suppose you want everyone to be dumbed down to equality. While we are at it, why not institute the Handicap Police and make Harrison Bergeron a reality.
"The vehicle's design is not really street-safe - this will be a problem as more efficient, lighter cars share the road with Hummers."
This is the kind of "offhanded" slight to SUV's that does not suprise me. (Take a Guess @ what I drive.) The fact is a unqualified Vehicle was on a road driving with Qualified Vehicles and was demolished. A Hummer (or any SUV) may be efficient for the purpose, someone buys it for. If the Hummer is a status symbol, of wealth, power a persons ability to afford said vehicle, then it is perfectly efficient. Or maybe some of us actually use them as intended, alternate terrain Vehicles. Let me see you try and drive one of those touted "Efficient" vehicles, through 20 miles of bad road, Ice, Deep snow, or rising rain water, Sand Dirt, Mud, of the Rural Areas of the South or any Rural region. Not everyone lives in a Metropolitan area, and thinks the world should CowTow to the Efficient'Nics. I'll tell ya this there were many efficient cars left on the side of the Damn road during the Ice storms a few years back, and those Efficient vehicle owners were very glad "US" unefficient SUV's were there to pull them out of a ditch, call for help, or save their Bacon.
I know alot of the features that are enabled by default, are annoying. Here's how to turn them off. (simple way first... Hold power button in for 10 Seconds, machine Powers down, no more annoying features.)
Seriously though, Here's they Registry Keys to Turn off. Hkey_Local_Machine/Software/Microsoft/Securi ty Center/ You will find initially Several Keys Here, change the Dword Value of the Keys to 1 instead of 0. This worked for me.
I hate that aggrevating crap. Somehow I think it will end up turning itself back on. You never know with MS, they pull that sneaky shit on ya, when you least expect it.
The writing was on the wall, along time ago. Nero came out with a nicer and more functional product. Adaptec knew this was coming, and made the $$$ when the timing was right. Roxio thought a revamped GUI' and a bunch of unusable clutter, was what the consumer wanted and was wrong. Now the Chicken has come home to roost, and it has lain a big, old fat, egg... Adaptec had a good product @ EZCD v5 and from that point on, it was and still is crap. Nero added mpeg encoding, dvd utilities, audio burning and packet cd writing when EZCD was going through thier company change. Also o top it off they (ahead.de) made it simple to use...NERO didn't break windows operability in the process either. WindowsXP native drag and drop burning is a farce, and it only takes on use of NERO to discover that. I don't know if Nero makes a version for Apple Products, but I do know Nero is OEM Bundled, with just about every Burner I have purchased, and my friends as well. It's a shame that Roxio is hanging it's finacial Hopes, on the Napster Nail, and I am sure the Next thing we will be hearing is how they are a failing company and get sucked up by Symantec, or some other gobbling, IP Grabbing Pirahna left from the Bubble Popping.
This will last until someone get sued, and the case is taken to the Supreme court. It works the same way with legislation. Remember, this is FCC regulation, that doesn't mean it is final. The FCC is as wishy washy as all get out. Remember these are the Same folks that just said they were going to Regulate Violence on TV. Let us not lose track of the way Regulation and FCC have worked together. How bout them Analog Airwave Rights passing to Public Access? Now they are going to the highest bidder, once the Broadcasting corporations decide to grudgingly let loose of them. Still I am glad to see they are hanging themselves out there for the little guy, for once. (at least for NOW)
You can fight Deep Pockets, the only problem is the Motivational force behind, the citizens revolting getting to the point that it spawns Revolution."Once American Public get to the point that enough people understand that the Federal Government is not the Be All and End All, of ruling bodies. The States and thier Citizens can take back their ursurped Authority. The power will have returned to the people. If this does not happen and enough people are angered at the corporations for becoming the defacto ruling party via elected shills. The paradigm will shift and justice will be served at the end of a gun, and at the start of the Constitutionally provided, chance for change. Always remember the Supreme Court was never given Supreme Authority over the United States Constitution, it was taken upon itself, by the Supreme Court. Article III of the Constitution defines the Supreme Courts role, and it mentions law Under the Constitution but not Over The Constitution. The power was taken By the Supreme Court in Marbury v. Madison (1803, Marshall). The court established its role as the arbiter of the constitutionality of federal laws, the principle is known as judicial review. As further evidenced by the 17th amendment to the Constitution. "In 1791 the state legislatures ran the United States Senate, but the 17th Amendment passed in 1913, reversed the power of the states, removing their control over Washington and creating two separate and redundant Houses of the People. We never had problems with the Constitution until it changes were enacted to it. It is not a living Document. It is a solid framework, upon which the Nation is built. You do not change the foundation of a house once it is built, without affecting the stability of the very house itself. This is the beginning of the Individual States Citizen being robbed of thier Judicial Rightss, and the dilution of the Individual States Judicial Power. A clear violation of the seperation, intended by the founding fathers of the United States. They provided for Supreme Court Authority and it was written explicitly. "Section 2. The judicial power shall extend to all cases, in law and equity, arising under this Constitution, the laws of the United States, and treaties made, or which shall be made, under their authority;--to all cases affecting ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls;--to all cases of admiralty and maritime jurisdiction;--to controversies to which the United States shall be a party;--to controversies between two or more states;--between a state and citizens of another state;--between citizens of different states;--between citizens of the same state claiming lands under grants of different states, and between a state, or the citizens thereof, and foreign states, citizens or subjects."
Not enough people Understand the Power they have, the Power they Had, and the Power that was robbed from them. The United States Constitution has become an abstraction to the Citizenry, and that is sad. Malaise and apathy have been fed to the citizenry by the very governing body it has created for itself. The two Political parties, are of no consequence and truly show no differences between themselves. they actually only show thier commonalities. Get elected. Stay Elected. And what can I get while elected. The right to keep and bare arms is so affected as to be almost useless, in effecting a constitutionally provided for Change in governing Body. The right to free speech via Campaign Finance Reform has been abridged. What part of "shall not be abridged" did the Supreme court not Understand? People better start waking up before this goes too, far.
Now I am not for sure about this totally, but the reason Nero and DVDShrink are tied together is because NeroRecode is based on DvDShrink, and the author has something to do with Nero, in either development or something like that. It's one of those things I remember vaguely or heard somewhere, and filed away for consideration. So I think that is why you'll never see it boxed. I could be just full of crap though, and spreading an Urban Legend. dunno for sure..Pur Speculation on a Rumor.
I think these are projected figures, and bare no relationship to the facts, other than they are directly related to the projected sales. Hey! One good fake number is as good as another one. The Pirates (and I mean the HArd Core Ones) are never going to buy the Product, no matter what we'd like to think. Also when these figures, are released they never mention the amount of sales the Games provide, once the game come into line with it's actual value. what I mean is once the games hype, and product cycle changes and it hits Walmarts', BigLots' and CompUSA's etc... Secondary sales tier, the $20 section, then the &10 Section and finally the Bargain Bin the Game is still generating sales and those that Pirated the game initially will keep the $$ coming in when the Company really needs it, during Dev time. I mean Hey what's the product actually worth? Now that Cd Burners are dirt cheap and almost anyone who's anyone knows Blanks, are like.20 Cents apiece, throw in some few dollars for marketing (90% word of mouth and Web Hypebole, and Fan loyalty.) So maybe the actuall Physical product is worth $5 or $10, now pay for the Dev and That adds on $50. Come on please... We've been through this ringer with the Music Industry price fixing CD's for years. Why continuing to buy into that malarky? when have you ever seen the figures for the after release and Product Down-grade expextations? Never and you never will. That is the industries little dark secret, the trickle down sales.
I thought this very thing, and was looking the article up on News.com (from way back in 2000.)
I have a Version of Streambox VCR, and Streambox ripper, and use them to this very day.
Also I don't care for Shades of Illegal.. Real/ Apple/ Streambox they all are a buch of Backbiters. How about dashboard and Konfabulator Debacle going on right now. The only Diff, is that the Big Boys can Lawyer You into hole if they want to...
Ok, "American Psycho" and your point is? That is the Yard Stick you are Using to equate this man as a great actor? Give me a break. Batman has always been a Tall, Dark, Brooding Lantern Jawed, Taciturn and Mysterious figure, driven by inner Daemons. Having someone that's MOST noted as a "Psycho" portraying the Character is just silly. Russel Crowe(Quick and Dead, Gladiator,A Beautiful Mind), or maybe Colin Farrel(Harts War, Daredevil,The Recruit, PhoneBooth, Minority reports), Timothy Oliphant(HBO Deadwood, Girl Next Door,Gone in 60 Seconds, First wives club), or George Eads (CSI & Monte Walsh), these are all comparable actors. I can understand that some people want this fellow for his "Manic Qualities" and they might think he can bring a "Twist" to the Character of Batman, but I personally do not think he is a "Talent." I am glad they have a great All Star Cast, they are going to need it, to prop this Guy up, as Batman.
Batman begins Cast Credited cast: Christian Bale/ Bruce Wayne/Batman (This is that annoying, stupid punk from The Movie Shaft, that is the Villain/ Baddie little Rich Boy)(And Reign of Fire)
Liam Neeson/ Ducard Michael Caine/ Alfred Pennyworth Katie Holme/s Rachel Dodson Cillian Murphy/ Dr. Jonathan Crane/The Scarecrow Gary Oldman/ Sargeant James Gordon Ken Watanabe/ Ra's Al Ghul Tom Wilkinson/ Carmine Falcone Morgan Freeman/ Lucius Fox Rutger Hauer/ Richard Earle Sara Stewart/ Martha Wayne Richard Brake Joe/ Chill Linus Roache/ Dr. Thomas Wayne Colin McFarlane/ Commissioner Gillian B. Loeb
So let's recap Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, and now this Buffoon. Why don't they Just Use that Terminator guy (Robert Patrick) He seems to be the death Knell, actor for a Series and Movies.
I used to work for an OEM Builder, and one of my Regulars gave me a CompaQ DeskPro P166. This was Back in the days when a 166 cost about 2 Grand. He had brought it straight from his house, along with another machine just like it, and some new parts to upgrade. One machine was soaking wet, through and through. The owners of the machines, wife had gotten pissed that he was home, sufing Porn, and poured a bucket of water into the machine. I upgraded one machine and got the wet one in trade for the work. After pouring alcohol into the machine and putting it under a Dehumidifier, and then to be sure I baked it in my shed, for a week, the machine ran fine.. and actually is still running fine to this day at one of my Uncle's house. I sold it to him for $900 when the PII's came out.
Getting around a States data Laws is Computer Crime. Plain and Simple. Engineering the System to circumnavigate the laws, wouldn't that be an Inducement to infringe Data, and somehow violate the New proposed Induce Laws? Or how about The DMCA, or better Yet HiPPA (sp?)
When I am looking through the Stacks for something; I like to scope out the other books in the Sections. Will the Robot be attracted to books by their shapes, fragments of glimpsed Titles, or other Human and Individual filetering techniques. I have found the most interesting books, quite by accident. Sometimes you are cruising through the stacks and see a big, dusty old Tome, and you cannot pass it by. You pull it down and leaf through it. Maybe you do not check it out, but it causes a train of thought, and then zip... you are moving to a new section, looking for something you thought of while looking at the Dusty old Book. A chain of events not set into motion by the Library Retrieval System.
You are entitled to your opinion, but I beg to differ. If the data, were important enough, that the Tax Payer, has to pay additionaly to defend against the results of the data, if it is developed to the extent, that a defense is needed. Like I said it may seem trivial, but in essence it is not. Loose lips sink Ships. I believe is how the old adage went. Also this is not some IP entertainment, that is meant to be shared, aired, or otherwise disseminated. This was TOP SECRET Data, that was never intended for public consumption. Also I believe in the Articles concerning the opening of the BBC Archives, that it was mentioned that safegaurds were to be used, so that only British Subjects were privy to the Archives.
While the loss of a floppy, might seem trivial to some, you might want to consider this fact. That single floppy could have contained the results of years of experimentation. Thus allowing anyone that obtained it, to forego that same xperimentation, and advance their studies further at the exspense of the United States Tax Payer. Just because a Secret is small, doesn't make it any less vital, or costly.

Got an Opinion? Vote and make it count, or STFU.
Mod me as a troll if you want to...
Now that Cd Burners are dirt cheap and almost anyone who's anyone knows Blanks, are like .20 Cents apiece, throw in some few dollars for marketing (90% word of mouth and Web Hypebole, and Fan loyalty.) So maybe the actuall Physical product is worth $5 or $10, now pay for the Dev and That adds on $50.

"You Insesitive Clod, Mad Cows...Ummmm Mice, have feelings Too!"
I can understand that some people want this fellow for his "Manic Qualities" and they might think he can bring a "Twist" to the Character of Batman, but I personally do not think he is a "Talent."
I am glad they have a great All Star Cast, they are going to need it, to prop this Guy up, as Batman.

How many Top Ramens, can you get for an iPod, when you're really hungry and brok?
I wish their math worked in my pocket.
1. $50,000.00 for composite materials
2. $1,000,000.00 for Electronics
3. $1,000,000.00 + change for Engineering
