  1. SanDisk already beat IBM to the chase. on IBM 1GB Microdrive Review · · Score: 1, Informative

SanDisk has has 1GB Compact Flash media for some time now.

  2. Re:ps2.ign.com's preview... on Square, FFXI, and the MMORPG · · Score: 0

Actually, Sony will be releasing a 40 GB hard drive, and ethernet device for the PS2; in addition to a keyboard, and optional monitor. Hell, they've even got that Linux release. Proxy behind your favor UNIX flavor, and go!

  3. They know where you are at all times ... on GPS Meets PCS · · Score: 0

Seems like a very good idea to implement so that keeping tabs on people is all the more easier for the government; and a feature to ensure that it's turned off? DO you really believe it's off? :)

  4. no color?@! on The New Handspring Visor: The Edge · · Score: 1

wtf, no color model? bah! and watch, as soon as i decide to purchase the eixting color model, an "edge" version will be available.

  5. I love it. on What Are Government Tech Jobs Like? · · Score: 2

I'm currently working as a contractor on a DoD project, and I simply love it. You can work as hard as you wish, or as little as you wish; there's plenty of work to do, and no pressuring deadlines. They pay is most excellent -- it's sick to see how my tax dollars are being spent, as 75% here can't even pull thier own weight. Regardless, there's a lot of room to learn a lot of things, as you actually have the ability to take your time with things.

  6. @Home Service in NJ Broken? on @Home Critic Silenced By @Home · · Score: 1

While we're on the subject; anybody here using @Home in NJ (I'm in the Cherry Hill area) and experiencing severe network brownouts every 15 minutes or so? I lose connectivty about every 15 minutes for about 30-60 seconds, then connectivity is restored once again. This makes network gaming utterly impossible, and forget about file transfers. Everybody at work who uses @Home has the same exact problem, it's utterly disgusting, considering I can't get DSL here.

  7. Re:dishwasher safe? on 101 Keys Soaking Wet: The Flexboard · · Score: 1

I would imagine so, considering I've had no problems throwing conventional keyboards in the dishwasher; you just have to make sure they are dry before turning them on. :)

  8. What a waste of effort on Shut Down Metallica, Not Napster · · Score: 1

This is all a big waste of time and effort; think about it, it can go either 1 of 2 ways. Napster wins, nothing changes, music continues to be freely downloadable. Napster looses, and worse case scenario, shutdown. What happens here? . It's just as easy to get whatever song your heart desires using Gnutella, as it is Napster, except for one key issue, there's nobody to go after. No centralized server(s) linking user databases together, etc. It will never end, this is how it is. As long as the internet exists, there will always be a vehicle for piracy.

  9. Anyone try Everquest behind IPMasq? on Playing Games Behind IP Masquerade? · · Score: 1

Has anybody successfully played Everquest behind a Linux firewall? I haven't, I was just curious if anybody else had any luck before I bothered to give it a shot.

  10. What the beer are you people on? on Corel Sticking to Closed Source Beta Test? · · Score: 1

Who cares, Corel's releasing a product, in which they want to have a few beta testers before it goes mainstream. What the hell is wrong with that? I certainly wouldn't want to release a Linux distribution without a few people testing it beforehand, not to mention, if I was a huge company such as Corel. Corel's doing a good thing for the Linux community, and GNU's been a mere religion lately. Give it up already, and let them handle it like it's a "real" product. Corel Linux seems as it's going to be the most hip thing since sliced bread.
