Melbourne has a few days each summer of 37C or above, but summer average would be low-to mid 20s. Having said that, yesterday it was 33C and today is 19C, tomorrow 16C.. go figure.
Using latest nanotechnology research, CPUMax developed the first CPU speed booster that dramatically enhances the CPU speed and reduces heat output. CPUMax is based on the SiXR, a new exclusively developed nanosemiconductor material, resulting from years of laboratory research. CPUMax foil speeds up the movement of electrons in the silicon substrate used by 99% of all modern CPUs and thus provides improved CPU speed. CPUMax is a small (11.4 x 19.2 mm) rectangular sticker which is installed on the CPU packaging. Users just need to attach CPUMax to the CPU or the case of the computer. They claim users will notice a CPU speed improvement after 5 to 10 booting cycles!
Does anyone know yet? I've read lots of "insightful reviews" but nothing actually spelling out what a 1.2/1.4ghz Mac will actually run like.
I haven't used a Mac since the Mac Classic came out so I've got no idea what sort of grunt they need these days. I wouldn't mind a cheap one to play with but if it's gonna bug the hell out of me because it's so slow then I need to know that before I shell out for it.
Another big problem is lack of a remote control. I guess you could get a USB solution but it seems like they would have built-in an infra-red port if they really wanted this to be part of a home theatre solution.
I thought Bob was unusually long winded this time. All he is basically saying is that Microsoft have so much money that no court-imposed monetary penalty can possibly be a problem for them. This is obvious I would have thought.
Even a forced break-up, splitting up the OS and Office divisions, would probably not slow them down too much. Then you would just have 2 monopolies instead of 1.
The forced open-sourcing of Windows is the way to go!
I haven't noticed much difference in the quality and accuracy of the stories this April 1st compared to any other day...
Google aren't the ones doing the news reporting though. That's AFP, in this case. Google are news reproducing, if anything.
..Slashdot editors could apply QA to the spelling in posted stories?
It's "business", not "buisiness".
Maybe Paris Hilton could use this prime to encrypt her phone book next time?
"How was I to know that I was passing an historical milestone, as the one above was the first picture ever to be clicked on in a web browser!"
The first picture on the web maybe, but only one of countless slashdotted sites.
Yet another front page ./ story of massive importance to the whole world!
Unfortunately the websever has decided to let us relive Apollo 13...

Exactly the same thing they cheer at in 2005 - Steve Jobs.

You have to cut off your finger and send it in with the device for repair.
iPAQs have had fingerprint readers for over a year now. 5550 was the first I think?
Seems like a glaring ommission.
We were discussing me, not you.
How can I get a job with H&R Block?
Possibly he was referring to spam?
My dell inspiron 8600 gets about 8 hours with a second battery pack installed, with MSVC++ compiling a few times an hour and using a bluetooth mouse.
If it was ballistic it wouldn't have an engine in it.
The pictures are loading about as fast as they would have from a BBS in 1981!
If you think forcing MS to open source is fair, maybe you wouldn't mind if the state turned your lawn into a public park? Property is property.
The difference is that the world economy is not more or less totally reliant on my lawn, and I haven't already made $100 billion out of it.

when do we get to hear about the camels????
In Communist Russia, babes ride big motorbikes!
