If my band isn't signed by one of the big 5, how can I get my material posted for sale by Apple? I suspect that the answer is "I can't".
I'd think the answer is more like "be patient." If this works then of course Apple will sign up everyone who wants to get signed up, including independent producers. And over time, as the service grows and established acts contracts expire, we may see them not renewing and instead producing their own works and dealing directly with Apple, so that that they finally, after all these years, reap the lion's share of the proceeds.
these older guys act like they never were in college before...some people have to work their way up and cannot afford to waste hundreds of dollars on music.
While you work your way up, there's this concept of "doing without" that you might give a try.
I've predicted and eagerly anticipated the demise (by replacement) of spinning media (magnetic and optical) for 10 or more years now... I've predicted it will happen, not when.
Well yeah. Let's take a few more wild stabs: CRTs will go away, the voice interface will become prevalent, wireless networking will be ubiquitous. And oh yeah, flying cars.
Adobe could have rewritten some key functions to be altivec optimized. But the Macintosh market is smaller, (and therefore less potential profit). Furthermore, Apple has been adding free/lowcost software that competes with Adobe and other manufacturors.
So you're not disagreeing that the software is at fault, you're just trying to explain why.
In Soviet Russia, the wall talks back to you!
I don't know why I had an urge to write that.
Hard to say for sure, but I suspect it's because you're doubly retarded. One, for thinking that joke is somehow still even slightly funny, and two, for lacking the ability to even properly grasp its form.
Mr. Pekau is an experienced mechanical engineer....In addition to Mr. Pekau's work, which is well documented
IANAE, but this is likely to be a crackpot/scam venture.
The phrasing I've quoted above, which come from the web site, are big red flags. They're trying to pitch Pekau instead of the engine. Along the lines of "he's really smart and knows what he's doing, so of course his engine works." This is how scam after scam after scam gets pitched. "Ignore all the nay-sayers, because they just don't understand what our guy has done."
The phrase "which is well-documented" is also a tip off. Nobody says that unless it's not quite true.
Here is the guaranteed Paradise Pete way to lose weight. Scoff if you will, I speak the truth:
1. Forget about calories. If you follow the rest of this, the calories will take care of themselves. 2. Do not eat sugar, bread, rice, pasta, or potatoes. At all. Period. Think of them as poison. Seriously. 3. Fat is good. Eat all the fat you want. Fat makes you feel full. When you feel full you don't eat as much. Sugars and carbohydrates, as soon as your body finishes processing them, will make you hungry. So eat all the fat you want, as long as no sugar or carbohydrates go along for the ride. 4. Get some exersize. Do something. Anything. Walk around the block. Do some jumping jacks. Take a flight of stairs. Stretch. Do ANYTHING, even if it's only for thirty seconds. The benefit from even thirty seconds far exceeds the benefit of doing nothing at all. If it's momentarily slightly difficult to speak you've done yourself a lot of good. 5. There is no rule five.
That's it. Hungry? Eat some cheese. Or a slice of ham wrapped in cheese, like a sandwich without the bread. Still hungry? Have another. Still hungry? You could have another, but wait a couple of minutes first and you won't want it because you'll feel full.
Omelettes? Nearly perfect. Cook them in all the butter you want. Real butter. Fat is good. Anything that says "fat-free" is your enemy. It's calories without the benefit of filling you up. So whatever number of calories it has are calories that you wouldn't have eaten, because you'll still have to eat some fat to fill you up.
When at the store, look at the carbohydrates on an item. If there are more than a handful, put it back. However, subtract fiber and sugar-alcohols. They don't make you hungry, so they're ok.
Yes, of course you can eat a low-fat diet and lose weight, but it's really really hard, because you'll never feel satisfied. And if you're weak you'll eventually give in and eat poorly. And you will, because if had that much dicipline you wouldn't be in the shape you're in. Follow the steps above and it's a heck of a lot easier, because you will feel satisfied.
Your old pal Pete changed his life when he figured out the right way to eat. You can too.

The open source folk is happy to spout crap about the dangers of closed source all the while they're happily installing binaries from distribution CDs and ftp-sites. That's hypocrisy.
No it's not. If the source is available, then someone will see it. It doesn't have to be me or you. It's simply the fact that it *is* open and reviewable that makes the difference.
I gotta go along with Safety Cap. When I owned a bar my incremental cost of making a 12 ounce soft drink was slightly over four cents. And they supplied the gun and the rest. And if I had a problem they would send someone out to fix it for free. I was buying more than you, of course, but not a huge amount.
w, its sad that people are so unimpreessed and negative about this sort of thing. I wonder what you would have said 100 years ago when a couple of madmen tried flying, in the air!
There's little doubt that he will survive 12 seconds. What happens after that is the concern. And Orville had the tiny advantage of only being three feet off the ground when his machine stopped flying. Old RM's going to be slightly higher than that, and if things go wrong he will no longer be Rocket Man, but rather Pancake Man, or maybe Smithereens Man.

Too many files: Apple's Finder chokes on multiple thousands of files.
Yes it does. I resort to using the command line in these situations. Amazingly, moving thousands of files there is nearly instantaneous.
There is no undo for renaming.
Maybe I misunderstand, but there is. The edit menu even says "Undo Rename."
Collumn view: No viewing by date, size, or anything but name.
Yeah. Column view is great except for that. If it had it I wouldn't use anything else.

Yes they did.
I don't think you appreciate the number of permutations involved in addresses with digits sprinkled in. Seven billion doesn't even get you started.
Man, don't those get in the way when you're trying to type?
Why would you do that? Put a big number there, like nine or so. It's better to owe them than have them owe you, since they don't pay interest.
Well yeah. Let's take a few more wild stabs: CRTs will go away, the voice interface will become prevalent, wireless networking will be ubiquitous. And oh yeah, flying cars.
He didn't say you'd get to watch.
So you're not disagreeing that the software is at fault, you're just trying to explain why.
Naturally you mean other people should read more closely, rather than you, who obviously can't be bothered.

Well, yeah. But it wouldn't be in the spirit of "You've got mail."
You've not got mail, or You haven't got mail, is about the best that can be done.

It's not the sales rep. Microsoft promised a free copy to attendees, then came through with only the equivalent of an unlicensed burned copy.
Start spelling better or I'll beat the crap out of you.
