A fair few of programming language geeks seem to be fans, but as someone posted here once before (sorry, can't remember who), functional programming has yet to find its Larry Wall. can you say Paul Graham ?

all i can think of is to wait long enough for them and send a burst of EMP at close range. that should be good enough...maybe we can have a bunch of anti-strykers that does this automagically.
"I say it'll be about a week, maybe two, before the code is replaced and this all goes away." At the risk of being labelled a troll, imho it does not go away. Assuming that some significant code was present (that came from SCO) they can always make the case that Linux folks couldn't have come up with that in the first place. So you cannot re-write it later, because you NOW know how it works, and you didn't earlier.

Instead of whining here, why don't you test the rcX candidates and report your findings on lkml, like the rest of us. You have better chances of getting things fixed.

I've always wondered why, in today's world of gigabytes of memory in personal computers, why such a big deal is made about virtual memory.. three basic reasons 1. resource virtualization 2. information isolation 3. fault isolation

i think what you _really_ wanted to say was "640k cores ought to be enough for anybody". oh dear lord...
Yes, Firefox is truly becoming the 21st century EMACS. It's a decent OS, all it needs now is a good web browser ;). :o)

As Lord Acton said in late 1900's Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men.
