    If I notice 'em, I go to the manager afterwards and ask for a refund. You'd be surprised how many theaters have "if you are not happy with your movie..." policies. I explain that the print was visible distorted and ask for a refund. I've gotten three so far.

    It does support PDF and plaintext:

    Um, no it doesn't...

    Kindle (AZW), TXT, Audible (formats 4, Audible Enhanced (AAX)), MP3, unprotected MOBI, PRC natively; PDF, HTML, DOC, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP through conversion.

    A dozen different operating systems can display PDFs with no problem, but the Kindle only supports them "through conversion" and makes no guarantees about whether they will work or not. I know, because a Kindle that supported PDFs would be something I would buy. The support is just not there.

    Oh, and you have to pay for each PDF you want to try to display because only Amazon can upload it to your Kindle for you. Sure, it's only 10 cents each, but why should I have to pay?

    Yeah, and the cool thing is that all of the technical documents and papers I have saved as .pdfs can be easily uploaded to it and displayed cause otherwise it'd be a useless...

    ...which was less than Amtrak got. Or the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Not to mention $20 billion for a national health registry, $6 billion for cable modems to farmers...

    Hell, the program to give away digital converter coupons so people could watch TV got more money than NASA.

    In 10 years? I'm not sure that the younger generation of developers is going to stick with a local copy of emacs.

    No, they'll want an online copy of emacs. And of course, with the 10Gbps fiber we'll all have by then, it'll only take a half hour to load.

    Science isn't a science at all. By that I mean the scientific method has not been derived through observation, experimentation, and the formulation and testing of hypotheses.

    Yeah, like I said - pop band. They're just the Backstreet Boys with a different sound. Oooooh, they use 'metal' guitars and rap a little. Yeah, they're quite the groundbreaking revolutionaries. Same schtick as New Kids On The Block, just with a different color of varnish (black and grey, because they have so much angst, the poor suffering guys...)

    Yes, somewhat...I mean, I'd prefer Linkin Park was locked up in Gitmo and their records were seized by US Marshals and buried in Yucca Mountain. THAT would be a GREAT use of my tax dollars. But just harassing them and making their life miserable is at least progress.
