People not properly understanding its consequences, or plain killers using them are the ones that kills people. With technology is more or less the same. The threat is people.
Regaring climate or diseases, could be attributed to people how damaging (or costly in lives) they could become.
Is like saying that vi is user friendly, just that is pretty selective picking friends. In fact, could replace Windows 8 with vi in your phrase and would make more or less the same sense. And a lot of vi users could even agree.
Or perception of evolution. How much has advanced the perception of the public (the "normal people") about free software vs propietary one in all this years, at least from your own point of view? And, it kept improving or is going back regarding using private internet services or environments controlled by single companies?
If we were talking about North Korea, Cuba or China, i would agree with you. But US claims to be a democracy, you know, citizens somewhat choose their president. And while you could not know what a new president will really do in the future, reelecting one is basically approving what he did in his first mandate, and somewhat asking to keep doing what he did.
In recent history, US citizens reelected GWBush (yes, Iraq invasion was right, keep being there, no matter if no WMD are there, or had no connection with Osama), and Obama (of course we want no privacy for us or anyone else, and we want draconian IP laws, we like to don't give a damn about international law and turn the world upside down just to catch a man that could give a hint about what US government really do). Or whatever they did regarding climate. And no, is not "If Obama is bad, look at the other option", there are always other options, even if is explicitely voting for none.
Of course, Hanlon matters here too, I don't attribute this to malice of the US citizens, there is plenty of stupidity to blame it.
Don't work in my Nokia N9, and Meego is one the closest things you have right now of a full mobile linux experience. Not tried in the N900, but in that case would be even worse.
So no, is not anti-Windows phone bias, don't attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity.
That rules had implicit 3 things about robots or autonomous systems: predicting the future, knowing that harm means, and knowing what human means.
Probably is simpler to just try to avoid collisions, nothing more, if have to bump on something, just take it simple, even if mean to hit a baby instead of a standing car. You won't get enough semantics to take a moral choice for all cases.
No matter if they discovered us. They won't visit us, so far our science knows, they can't, no matter how advanced they are. They could send a signal, but need to be relatively close to both being able to detect us and send a signal with any kind of hope that we detect and understand it (and considering how much people like you is asking for basically banning space investigation, i'd say that the window of opportunity for that is closing).
Anyway, that "useless" space program had a lot of side effects pretty important for us down here, you are using at least one of them right now. Maybe we won't colonize the solar system and start chatting with alien entities anywhere soon, but just trying to make it possible will change our lives for better.
If space is the final frontier, i would say that installing Ubuntu in the ISS is a previous step.
Anyway, i would say that getting major hardware vendors on board targetting consumers with desktop linux (included and/or providing proper drivers, like they do with Windows) should be the next one. Microsoft is giving a golden hand convincing everyone that they should go elsewhere, and Linux and Ubuntu are right there.
So far (and probably for very long time) there are bigger chances that people uses robots (or its parts) to kill other people than the robots and/or AIs, by their own will and means, could do it.
In the other hand, human stupidity, specially inside the political/military classes, is an imminent threat for us all that is not even considered in that list.
The demo runs in the N950, so odds are high that it will run in the N9. But Jolla also said some time ago that it won't be supported. So will be up to you (or the community) to make it run it there, won't be an i.e. official Nokia upgrade to it.
Should be evidence of life, something not so surprising. But could be even more shattering to find that we are actually martians that come here very long ago escaping from the climate change that we caused on Mars (even that we Marsformed Earth back then).
This is about everyone having their mail server in american soil or hosted by an american company, maybe even routed. But if this law gives some protection to US citizens, wont give it to the rest of the people.
I suppose that this is related to the sea level rising observed by the NASA. One thing is speech with an agenda and another cold (ok, warm in this case) facts.
We could do something about it? We should? The problem is that there is no "we" there, probably the ones that could do something (and probably have a role in the current situation) won't.
Even Jakob Nielsen says that Windows 8 usability is "dissapointing". People should not be jumping to buy it, at least if they are rational. Maybe with new devices and computers if it comes forced in they will get it, but the upgrade, specially for traditional desktops, won't get them something easier to use (for the same tasks they were used to).
It could be a golden opportunity for both alternative Windows desktops environments/addons (i.e. Stardock) and Linux (both for traditional desktops and the new touch enabled ones if i.e. KDE plasma active delivers a good experience).
In the N900 (the cellphone version of the Nokia Internet Tablet, i suppose it can count as a tablet) there were several linux versions available to install and choose at boot between them. Used to have the default Maemo with Meego and Android, but several more were available.

And don't do like Finland where murder/torture/rape fines are orders cheaper than the ones for pirating.
Is not soon enough... Will Microsoft survive till January 2013 after betting the company on Vista 2.0?

Just when NASA was needing some exotic matter, new ones are discovered.
At least, until we are used to see them, this new ones will be pretty exotic.

If they analyze CFC content in earth atmosphere 30 years ago would conclude that here may still exist life, but that surely isn't intelligent enough.

Current legislation have no problem charging millions for Imaginary Property
If your application/game is popular enough, you will develop it for even more platforms. Ask Rovio about it.

Based on Mer if it gives you a hint. Looks like it will be pretty open.

This is not in the range of epic fails for MS PR standards, just a minor scratch. It can't be compared to Bill Gates getting a BSOD showing Windows 98 or, more recently the Surface version with Steven Sinofsky. And there were a lot of intermediate fails in the last 15 years.
Killer Bots dont kill people, people kills people. Ban the people responsible for those killer bots, and, uh... oh, wait, they just got reelected.

It's working as it should .
Which part of "Microsoft Product" did you not understand?
