Define modern sound? Evolution of consumer soundcards essentially stoped with the SB Live, which runs find in BSD. I was not aware that running emacs required a 3D card. Getting stuff done != games.
But that's really the point. FreeBSD is about getting it done and getting on with your life, not pie-in-the-sky stuff that's of no use to 99.9% of the users.
I run Audion on my iBook. Majorly kick ass. Integrated ripping, kick ass playlist management, and really neato skinning. It's shareware but worth the $25.
Nah, even assuming they're 250k a peice, that's 4,000 per GB, 3TB total. 3TB isn't that much. And, obviously, if they're smaller, that total only goes down.
There's a notice on one of their policy pages that they'll give a domain to anyone with a valid claim (Trademark, etc). I e-mailed the provided address, stating that A: I was the original registrant and B: It's my name. They got back to me in under 24 hours to arrange the transfer.
Bullshit. Just have a central processor who offers prepaid credit. You buy in with your credit card in standard units ($5, $10, $20, etc) and then use that until it runs out, then you charge it up again.
Lately I've been playing Thomastik-Infeld's on my two basses. The powerbass (roundwound, great for slap, and plenty of bottom too, plus they last forever) on my P-Bass and Jazz Flats on my 6-string fretless. Those are amazing strings. Almost as bright as roundwounds, but again, last forever and don't chew up the fingerboard. They're made in Austria, and I doubt you'd find in 'em in stores in the US. I get mine from juststrings.com
XMMS is a mediocre clone of Winamp 2. It gets the job done, sorta, but it's certainly not something I'd hold up as quality software.
Well, then I'd suggest you develop sane mail archiving habits.

Yes, you are.
My iBook was $969 + $70 Airport card + $43 256Mb SODIMM. It's a super laptop (4 hour battery life!) for under $1100.
I question the point of password protecting LILO. If a person has physical access to the machine, you're hosed.

Not at all.

Yes, it's semi-sleazy, but they don't cybersquat.
Timeline:
1997 or so: I registered tylereaves.com, mainly for use in e-mail
2000: I let the domain lapse, not really using it, and tired of paying $40 a year or so for it (Hey, registering was expensive in '97!)
200?: Netster becomes the owner of tylereaves.com
2003: I nicely ask for it back.
2003: I get my domain back. They didn't even charge me the trasnfer fees.
>If I use only strcat() for example, why do I >need to load in the entire C string library?
Because strcat can call another string library function, which can call another, etc...
Code duplication is bad, remember?
Well, maybe, but if you can put a sat up into geostationary orbit for the same cost as LEO, I don't really see much point for LEO.

Not really. Once you're above, oh, say, 40,000ft or so (IE, and minute or two after launch) you're above 99% of the air.
It's absouletly invalid. The MIME type for an HTML document is text/html.
Any else noticed that members.aol.com is sending an invalid content-type header?
I've seen iso8859 and text/iso8859-html, neither of which Firebird likes...
But they all operate in the same fundamental way. It's not like the command syntax is different.
Linux already has a unified interface. It's called the command line. Besides, it's not like figuring out any of the mainstream WMs is hard.
Most of the newb friendly distros through one of KDE/Gnome in as the default choice, which works fine for someone who doesn't know any better.
Not exactly.
The average of a and b (assuming b is the larger of the two, IF they are different at all), is a = avg = b. Note those equal to.

Yea, of course. And online retailers charge you exact shipping.
The mind boggles that someone could be so incredibly stupid. Yea, let's waste time, and double the file size!
