I'm probably going to get modded down but anyway: the big deal is that Microsoft champions C#, while Open Source champions C++. Therefore, nothing can POSSIBLY be wrong with C++. At least C# doesn't have some awful templating system. (Watch me get replies from people claiming to enjoy templates).

I'm surprised this hasn't been posted yet, but Romero has recently announced at E3 that Daikatana's source code will be released in 3 weeks. As you can imagine, everyone is very excited, because we can bring the advanced AI "buddy bots" from Daikatana to our favorite games, like Half Life, or maybe even the upcoming Doom3. Nothing will be better than having Superfly Johnson behind you helping you frag a cyberdemon.

Could it be the fact that /. is having to splash more and more advertising over what used to be an awesome, up to date, (mostly) spellllled correctly site? I bet by swiping the referral, they are making more money than they have with the MICROSOFT(!) ads that I can see at the top of my screen. Slashdot is all about personal freedoms and geek ethics until the latest Matrix comes out on DVD or there is a quick buck to be made.

What did you expect? Microsoft gets a lose/lose situation on Slashdot. If they did NOT add these features OS X has, Linux zealots would be spouting how inferior Windows is. However, since they DID add the features that everyone seems to want, the plan is just to belittle the fact that Windows 2003 will probably be an improvement on Windows 2000/XP because of features "lifted" from OS X.
