BeOS used to be so much fun, but two things really held it back when I used it. One, NetPositive was the best browser. That sucked. It was like Netscape 3.0 compatible. I know that's not really valid anymore. There is a Mozilla port now. The second thing, which is probably still an issue, is the fact that BeOS wasn't totally POSIXified. All kinds of hacky stuff had to be done to get stuff to port. Compare this with OS X, which for all intents and purposes, is FreeBSD. Stuff compiles so good on there. I think the next time I will give BeOS a second try is when one of the free BeOS projects starts to come along. I kind of think of BeOS as OS X for i386.
Why don't they just shape the traffic to their needs? I'm sure there has got to be some way to do this at an application level. Couldn't they just assign lower priorities to p2p traffic? It's not like bandwidth is some tangible asset that we are USING up every day. Just have us capped to under their bandwidth needs.
Doug also invented the GUI and Smalltalk (www.squeak.org). Most of you are familiar with the GUI, but you really should give Squeak a look. It's a pretty cool development enviornment.
You don't KNOW fun until you've done the same flipping kick move in Enter the Matrix 4,000 times or kicked the crap out of an agent for 20 minutes, only to have him get up and kill you.
The worst example of this phenomenon has to be the mechanics of time travel in Lost in Space. You seriously had to see this disaster of a film to appreciate the abject horror that it is capable of producing.
Who needs Gigli when you have the abortion that is Battlefield Earth? THE MAN CREATURE IS HUNGRY. GET THE HUNGERFOOD FROM THE CARRYPACK.

Get this, you can follow their install directions for Debian TO THE LETTER and it complains about a missing library (LIBLSFoundation_d). I think they released a little too early and a little too often.
what would you rather have, a crappy PalmOS machine, or an iPaq that can run WinCE/Linux? some PPC machines can be had pretty cheaply, like $100 over the cost of a Palm. Palm is going to tank pretty soon unless they put some real hardware in their machines.
what about CMYK support?
$25 an hour and they provide the hardware. flex time. try and get benefits too.
I hope we get a native OS X port soon. X11 is okay, but I want a native GUI for OOo.
And I, for one, welcome our new Perl 5.8.1 overlords!

solution: buy a game boy advance and a cell phone.
not too bloody well with this economy.
Even funnier is the fact they paid $30 for KaZaA instead of just downloading it from somewhere.
Maybe it is because Liv Tyler is a lot hotter than whoever plays Dave Bowman.
I hope they add a DBI soon so I can store all my files in a CSV file.

What does it matter? Trinity dies at the end of the movie anyway.

When you start with "Ehm", make sure to actually be right or else you look pretty foolish.
