You're a fool if you don't think this happens. This is why I'm against electronic gambling. Not because of some moral "gambling is of the devil" thing... but because it would be trivial to rig these machines and then erase all evidence that anything fraudulent happened. Politicians can literally transform your hopes and dreams into money lining their wallet.

Not sure what wild west frontier town you're living in, but modern gambling machines are heavily restricted here, and through independent regulation/inspection it's extremely difficult to rig anything without triggering an investigation and probable criminal charges. The casino already makes billions legally so the motivation to risk that for a few dollars more seems rather pointless.

The end result is you end up with a bunch of minority numpties in parliament house who don't know what they're doing creating havoc. Because it's the only business model that works. What choice do you have when your option is fight or die? They may be fighting a nasty fight, but really it is all they have. If they embrace the "information wants to be free" reality, then all the fat cat middle men die in the ditch. Contrary to popular myth, piracy doesn't rob artists, it only robs the people who make money off artists. Artists still create art regardless.

You are demonstrating the "failure of imagination" that too many people with a narrow world view have.

Or maybe I know something you don't. Plenty of research done in this area, there's reasons why it's not commonly used, nor will be. Maybe you have "failure to filter hype over reality"

While I spent LOTS of time writing code for a living, I realize that's an "edge case" - keyboards will be gone from most offices in the next 20 years, same as desktops and mice will be. In those scenarios, even a laptop is clunky and chunky.

But more still the most efficient and effect type of input, by a long way

We have a political Q&A TV show here, and one time a politician was on there promoting his low tax policies because "no-one wants higher taxes" There was a collective groan from the studio audience and one guy responded, "I'll happily pay more tax if it means better services". This was followed by another, and another which drew applause. The general consensus is the "low tax" promise is purely a political gimmick. If you want quality health education and infrastructure services that most people want, then you have to pay for it, and you pay for it through taxes.
I paid over $70k in tax last year and will happily support higher tax rates dedicated to improving health, education and transport (not defence - $1Trillion on a illegal war? WTF? Those responsible for that should be hung for treason)
