Just like in a Grand Prix, pushing beyond the limits results in a blown engine. Since update to ver 6, I've had daily BSODs that are caused by a video driver crash. Since I turned off hw acceleration in FF6, no more BSODs.
In effect, having a good,recent GPU is the equivalent of having hundreds of CPUs all in one single chip. Since password guessing is a task that can be divided easily, the GPU is 100x faster than a regular CPU, and it is very efficient at number-crunching.
They then have to deal with someone else's IT department.
A customer/provider relationship is very different than supervisor/employee our interdepartmental one. The provider can choose to stop taking the customer's money and tell him to go away. Sure the customer can sue but in the meantime, he's got NO SERVICE.
I expect the next version of iTunes come with a new private key which will require a new firmware flash on all Aiport Express. Then James will need to find another girlfriend with an Airport Express, crack that open and dump the key again.
