    The only way I even know the name is because George Bailey saved the pharmacist from poisoning a kid with it in "It's a Wonderful Life." And the last recorded case of it in Europe was decades ago. So did it go hide out for a while in Africa or something?

    Part of the lie is that somehow diversity is somehow going to help your business. "It will open us up to new ideas and a new audience" usually just turns into "Everyone is walking on eggshells around the new hire, the new hire isn't as qualified or hard-working as candidates we passed over, and if we ever try to fire the new hire we're going to get sued for discrimination."

    WTF are you talking about? I have a 270 and at 1080p it will play almost anything at max settings. I would only get a better card if I were pushing a higher resolution than that.

    The original space race was a lot more about nuclear weapons fears and saber rattling than I think Neil appreciates. It may have been publicly perceived as a fun thing, but behind the scenes it was about military paranoia and a Cold War that came all-too-close to becoming VERY hot.

    The irony is that most of these programs to "promote STEM education in the U.S." are just thinly-veiled attempts to *INCREASE* H1B visas.

    the Clinton Foundation, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, etc. have no damned intention of education Americans in STEM. They just want more ammo so they can go to Congress and scream for more legalized slavery.

    While I admire his ambition, any school system is going to improve if you bump the teacher/student ratio by a factor 2 or 3

    Not to mention the fact that his private school doesn't have to take in troubled kids from the hood, kids with learning disabilities, or poor kids whose single parents are working 2-3 jobs.

    These days, Slashdotters have been Musk worshiping even worse than they used to Jobs worship. Glad to see someone else here who isn't firmly in his cult.

    And for someone who's such a libertarian, every one of his schemes sure seems to depend awful heavily on my tax dollars to actually work.
