I honestly can't understand the sheer amount of hatred and bile I've seen on Slashdot (and the internet in general) which is directed at women.

No, there's no hatred directed at women here. That's the bullshit narrative that white knights like you want to create so you can portray any critics of your shit as evil hate-mongers. The anger here is directed at professional-victims, self-righteous SJW's, self-hating white knights--and hypocrites in general. It's also directed at those who want to forcibly turn a tech news site into some SJW support camp, by labeling anyone who doesn't toe the SJW line as misogynists, racists, slut-shamers, bigots, etc. Well, fuck you, I'm not playing ball.

Barbie has been under fire from feminists for so long that ANYTHING Mattel does with it will be attacked. If they release a "My CEO Barbie" playset tomorrow, the SJW's and white knights will call it "patronizing." If they don't release it, the SJW's and white knights will complain they Mattel never shows Barbie in any leadership roles. If they release it in Japan but not in the U.S., the SJW's and white knights will complain that Mattel doesn't think American girls should be CEO's.

It's a no-win situation, and Mattel would be best off telling the SJW's, white knights, feminists, etc. to go fuck themselves. They're not the ones who are ever going to be buying them anyway.

How many PCs in your household do you have to upgrade with a $500 video card?

One that's going to play games like the latest Assassin's Creed or Dragon Age on anything higher than "shit." Cheapest videocard I saw that even even met their base "recommended" requirements was almost as expensive as an entire PS4 or Xbox One. No thank you.

  17. Don't need to upgrade regularly anymore, huh? Go look at the system requirements on AC: Unity and tell me you can play that on even medium settings with a system that hasn't been upgraded in years.

  18. Or I could just pick up an entire console for $100 more and will DEFINITELY still be playing AAA games in 2020.

  19. Consoles are obsolete when they come out.

PC graphics hardware isn't obsolete until a month after it comes out.

Lol, that's why I finally switched from PC to console. I loved the modding and the cutting-edge graphics of the PC. But I got tired of dropping $500 on a new videocard only to have it be garbage a year later.

Just look at the new specs of AC: Unity as a good example of the problem. The videocard required to run that thing on the recommended settings on a PC is almost as expensive as the entire PS4/Xbox-One console.
