That's why I don't give a damn what anyone's credentials say. And neither should anyone else. Just because your credentialed doesn't mean you're clued.
Makes me wonder what other changes they're sitting on which could save money. Perhaps they already have the 4X version sitting on a workbench somewhere waiting for the time they'll need it for PR and/or Compliance purposes.
They make Power Generating Stations AND Lightbulbs? What's wrong with this picture?
I wonder what conditions are attached to a license to do business?
Seems to me that the only reason The People would issue such a license would be with the provision that the company receiving the license operates in the interest of The People.
The only power hijackers have is the idea that your nation will negotiate for your safe release.
By changing the assumption to, "Our hostages are already considered dead", you COMPLETELY remove any power from the hijackers, and both empower and incentivize the hostages to resist.
"Well, in a situation where the terrorists are going to land the plane somewhere and make demands, it's not a terrible idea to cooperate"
I think that's wrong. The ONLY effective counter to hostage taking is "The Hostages Are Dead to Us, We Will Not Negotiate". Once people wake up and understand that, they'll be able to properly respond in a crisis.
And that is to never allow yourself to be taken as a hostage. Better to be a free man in a grave, than living as a puppet or a slave....
I disagree. 9/11 happened because the Feds taught everyone "Cooperate with hijackers", when any SANE person knows the only thing to do is fight back using any means necessary.
You are hijacked, YOU ARE ALREADY DEAD. What else do you have to lose? And you gain an honor guard in hell of every one of them you send on before you.
In any event, no one will ever listen to the Feds again with their stupid ideas. Cooperate with Hijackers, how fucking stupid.
The Federal Government is ONLY permitted to do those things delegated by The People and/or The States. Since the authority to create databases is NOT delegated to the Feds, by the 9th and 10th Amendments, it's reserved to The People and/or The State.
Therefore, there is no FEDERAL Constitutional Prohibition against YOUR STATE creating a Database ( Your Mileage May Vary, depending on Your State Constitution ).
WHY do people forget that the TRUE role of the Federal Government is as OUR BITCH?
"And I, I walked over to the, to the bench there, and there is, Group W's where they put you if you may not be moral enough to join the army after committing your special crime, and there was all kinds of mean nasty ugly looking people on the bench there. Mother rapers. Father stabbers. Father rapers! Father rapers sitting right there on the bench next to me! And they was mean and nasty and ugly and horrible crime-type guys sitting on the bench next to me. And the meanest, ugliest, nastiest one, the meanest father raper of them all, was coming over to me and he was mean 'n' ugly 'n' nasty 'n' horrible and all kind of things and he sat down next to me and said, "Kid, whad'ya get?" I said, "I didn't get nothing, I had to pay $50 and pick up the garbage." He said, "What were you arrested for, kid?" And I said, "Littering." And they all moved away from me on the bench there, and the hairy eyeball and all kinds of mean nasty things, till I said, "And creating a nuisance." And they all came back, shook my hand, and we had a great time on the bench, talkin about crime, mother stabbing, father raping, all kinds of groovy things that we was talking about on the bench. "
Why not just sureppititiously enter the suspects home and tap his computer? I'm sure the Feds have spyware that can't be detected or cleaned for just such an occasion.
If they don't what the hell are we paying for?
I'll leave the particulars of getting them to infect themselves via normal webbrowsing to the student.
"Because it was unnecessary. They are describing the smallest and most "particular" specifiable area they know contains the suspect. If a warrant were to be ordered to nab me at work, it would include the capability of examining the entire area"
I think you are confusing an ARREST WARRANT with a SEARCH WARRANT.
That said, My person, papers and communications are protected in exactly that case. They may have a warrant to search YOU and YOUR SHIT ( Or, if you are the employer I suspect the offices ) , but if they wanna touch ME or MY SHIT, they better have a warrant NAMING ME. Otherwise isn't it technically called a "Fishing Expedition"?
"Getting something to the most granular they can with the information provided, not being invasive at all, and having a specific person they are looking for does fit any reasonable definition of "particular" I can think of, including the one you posted."
If the information provided isn't granular enough to protect EVERYONE ELSE but the subject of the search warrant, it's not enough to get a proper warrant in the first place.
Freedom and Liberty are the DEFAULT options in a "Free Country". The Price of Freedom and Liberty is accepting the risk of Other People's Freedom and Liberty.
Since the FDA isn't trustworthy, why would anyone care?
You really do need to read it to savor it properly. The "Ok, Demonstrate it." part is going to be a classic.
"Cleaning up is an issue because water and cleaning materials are in short supply."
Baby Wipes are damn cheap at Wal-Mart.
So, it's like moving to Linux but with the additional pleasures of both paying $200.00 and still not getting any useful bundled applications?
That's why I don't give a damn what anyone's credentials say. And neither should anyone else. Just because your credentialed doesn't mean you're clued.
Walt Disney? I'm sure you mean Rick Dees.
If it's IMPORTANT it'll get renewed. If it's NOT IMPORTANT it'll just go away.
I don't see a downside. Anyone?
Makes me wonder what other changes they're sitting on which could save money. Perhaps they already have the 4X version sitting on a workbench somewhere waiting for the time they'll need it for PR and/or Compliance purposes.
They make Power Generating Stations AND Lightbulbs? What's wrong with this picture?
THAT's an amount of work worth mentioning.
The price of Freedom and Liberty is accepting and living with the risk of OTHER PEOPLE having Freedom and Liberty.
Apparently, the Governments of the UK and US aren't BRAVE ENOUGH to accept that risk of other people having Freedom and Liberty.
And Governments of Pussies should not exist in "The Home of The Brave", eh?
Would like to discuss your annual donation...
Rocco and Knuckles will be by to pick up the envelope.
I wonder what conditions are attached to a license to do business?

Isn't that what regulation is all about?
A pattern? Say, 10,000 Videos they don't have rights to? That's a pattern.

Perhaps an Amendment guaranteeing our heretofore unenumerated Right to Privacy?
We should get together all the department leads next Monday from 10-2, and discuss this...
You mean Pride in a Good Job Well Done isn't their motivation?
and release a version of Office/Outlook which runs on a linux box in a lot fewer words.
After all, freaking High School kids can release code packaged for Linux. Should we really believe MSFT doesn't have the chops to get the job done?
Consider the police response in Alice's Restaurant...

Typical WSJ reader is a MSFT fanboy, because they don't have a clue what REAL TECHNOLOGY is capable of.
