  1. Those who like cinemas will go to cinemas. on Slashdot Asks: Would You Like Early Access To Movies And Stop Going To Theatres? · · Score: 1

I don't think people will stop going to the cinema, and theatre also because theatres show stuff you can't see anywhere else. You know, my wife and I we go to the cinema when there's an exceptionally good film that we want to watch, and we'd rather see it in a cinema than at home. Unfortunately that happens very rarely because films at the cinema generally suck donkey bollocks. That's one reason why people don't go to the cinema as much as they used to. The other being - they've become too lazy and like the comfort of home. You can drink and eat and talk as much as you like when you watch a film at home. Anyway, I don't think much would change, but maybe slightly more people would decide to watch the film at home, I guess. However, what I tried to say is: films have become much worse quality, stupid, unchallenging for the viewer, and that's the problem with any industry that got "murricanised". When art is solely being made for profit and pandering for "everybody" [meaning the lowest common denominator of 80 IQ] then art suffers. People generally recognise that and therefore companies make less profit. There are really great films being released only on DVD, though. You have to look really hard to find them, though. That's a shame. Have a nice day.

"What's not nice about that!" How about not having enough of devices to stick into these superwonderful ports and having piles of older devices that you would still like to use? In a transition period, and this is a transition period, you have to be able to provide all the right connectors for the people who use mainstream devices that connect to these connectors. What use is a laptop that I cannot connect any of my current external devices to? It's of no use.

  23. Re:Yeah, but Broadwell-E 8-core procs run at 3.2GH on AMD Says Upcoming Zen CPU Will Outperform Intel Broadwell-E (hothardware.com) · · Score: 1

Let me put it this way for you: let's say you have a choice of two cars, a Porsche for $60000 and a Ferrari for $100000. A Porsche has a top speed of 260km/h and Ferrari has a top speed of 300km/h. Also, Porsche consumes a bit less fuel. Which one would you choose? Do you go for more expensive car just because you like Ferrari even though you don't need a 40km/h faster car? And it's certainly better to have a car that consumes less fuel, too. That's the problem I have with Intel fanboys. I really, really don't care if my car is a *bit* slower. It's not an earth-shattering difference. But I do care if I save some money and use it for something more important than having a 10% faster CPU, you know? It's a ridiculous pissing competition. What's the really most important thing these days is price and performance/watt ratio, nothing else. I couldn't care less about the 10% more speed. That's the last point people should consider nowadays.
