Naval ships have collision warning systems.
There's a "ding, ding, ding" to alert crew.
That's when eyeballs gather around radar, and secret guy stuff.
Also, the watch scans the horizon with binoculars.
If collision systems are "frozen" or spoofed, it could be a "drunk walk" algorithm that increases the probability of a collision.
My shipmates were never comfortable with the first report.

The downside is that the Gentle User had to know how to download and implement the piece of crap, so the audience was limited.

I do, however, know what freedom of speech is.
I question your use of the word, "should."
If you're a legislator pondering the wording of a Constitutional amendment, then fine.
Freedom of speech is a protection against being arrested by the government.
Unless Reddit is the gubmint, "free speech" is out of context.

This is true of most businesses.
If some strategy isn't optimal for revenue stream, it's abandoned.
