4 drives in the same machine? damnit man, put a fan on them. Heat causes the early demise of most harddrives. You'd think after the first couple you'd have figured that out...
If all you want is the ability to play mpeg video on your tv, you've picked the wrong tool. my $55 Apex DVD player from walmart plays mp3s, vcds, svcds, dvds, audiocds, and yes, raw mpeg files burned to a cdr.
But bush IS a backwater rube that only knows how to order violence. I don't understand how someone with a C- average who drove his businesses into the ground can become president. His single concern is getting revenge on Saddam for the attack on his father's life 10+ years ago. I pray we make it to the next election before that baffon starts anything too serious.
ahh, but it only hit the developers section rather than the front page, so it won't get/.'ed nearly as hard. That is until the next 2 or 3 times this story gets submitted until it finally does reach the front page:-)
sorry, but no. The GeForce 4 is only about 7-8 months old at the most. I bought mine in April of last year almost immediately after it was release. (Fell into some free money)
Just before it explains the processor core, the article lists tested operating systems. My question is, where the hell did they find copies of slackware 1.2 and 2.0? And why version so old?
Your forgetting the Terminator 3 and Bad Boys 2, both due out this summer! I don't think there was a single preview before LoTR that WASN'T for a sequal (or prequil in dumb and dumbers case)!
hell yeah, when Duke nukem forever was announced (aka shortly after duke nukem 3d came out) 3D realms had yet to produce a game that ran in windows instead of DOS
For a/. readers OS, I'd recommend PrBoom . For windows, you'd have to go with WinDoom . Of course you have to have the wad files, but I'm sure if your asking how to run it you've allready got those right.........
aahhhh!! It's that damn book! I've had nightmares about that book! They used it here to teach MIPS asm, and then the next semester it's used to teach "bum bum bum!" cpu organisation (sp) and design.
really? my girlfriend would sooner stab me in the leg with a fork, then let me STOP her from seeing this movie tonight. Personaly, I don't see what the big fuss is about since I never read the book(s) or saw the first movie, but I'm more of Tom Clancy fan myself.
well, since FreeBSD isn't a publicly traded company I can't really speak for their profits, or lack thereof, but this shows that the second rc of FreeBSD 5.0 is due out today....
this question is asked (and answered) in just about every nvidia related article that comes up on/., so I'll summarize. There are bits and pieces of their drivers which they do not own the rights to (ex. S3TC compression). Also, most of the bang for their video cards comes from the drivers, and they don't want to just give that away. Did you ever notice every time someone shows a benchmark with an ATI card faster than a nvidia card, nvidia releases new drivers with "25%" permformance increases!?!? The whole damn card must be software, since this new driver was larger than the rest of my kernel!
So what your saying is, he doesn't actually create the tornadoes, he just happens to be close by when they strike naturally and then take credit for them?:-)
Ahh, but it is useful for things such as the various distributions LiveCD's, which contain lots of documentation and plain text files along with the increasing number of binaries. for example, the slackware 8.1 live cd squeezes 1.3GB+ of data onto a 650MB cd using zisofs.
both glibc 2.3.1 and gcc 3.2.1 are in slackware-current, and have been for a while (few days at least). Everyone talks about the slow releases of slackware, but damn if -current isn't bleeding edge & stable at the same time.

ahh, I see you lack a sense of humor my son
Ahh, your then I'm not the only one who managed to get a screenshot of that yesterday...
After googling for a bit, I can only find UK retailers. Does anyone know of a place to purchase one of these in the US?

you're either joking, or fucking retarded and know absolutely nothing about how the army actually works, dumbass.
ummm, that auction ended about 10 minutes ago (10:13am PST), and didn't meet the reserve price.

what's the point of copy/pasting comments from the first story as ac? dipshit
... an actual gaming system based on linux
Did you try the Gentoo 1.4rc1 live cd? It booted, loaded the nvidia driver, and started the ut2003 demo for me with zero trouble.

I was wondering how long it would take people to start quoting penny arcade in an article that mentions john romero

Then look at it the other way around. What stops the person going after your laptop from changing the key themselves?
