    Dude, everyone knows that doesn't work - the metal acts as an antenna! If you want to BLOCK the signals, I suggest wearing a hat made of lead. As an added benefit, it's great exercise!

    Wow, I *really* hope people aren't moderating based on that kind of idea. The whole system is designed to make it possible for one to give weighting to funny things if you want to or not, and if people are trying to do 'karmic justice' this way, it's only going to screw up the system. If something's funny, mod it as funny, and don't try to help someone's karma. Karma will take care of itself, I've found. :)

    Yep, 640KB and 8gHz. That'd make for an interesting machine. And it could be upgraded to TWO floppies (one 5.25" and one 3.5", of course).

    I could fit all that RAM in my L2 cache nowadays with lots of space left over! (just got a Core 2 Duo) Spooky.

    Much like an errant program shouldn't be *able* to take down a whole system, I don't believe a plug-in should be able to lock up the browser.

    Yeah, that'd be nice if Mozilla had that, but it doesn't quite manage it in all cases. With the advent of tabs, if you have something in a tab that is waiting for a Flash to load (or whatever), it *can* (but not always), completely lock up the entire browser until whatever it is has loaded. I have no idea what it is that triggers this condition, though.

    Someone made the point of funneling money from NASA into aerospace companies. The same funneling that happens with war equipment contractors is the link. Sorry if that was too subtle.

    One might even say all NASA seems interested in is transferring government money to Orbital, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Honeywell, Pratt and Whitney, et al. without anything to show for it.

    With a Republican in the White House, I'm shocked that someone would say that! :)

    You don't think the war in Iraq/Afghanistan *really* costs *that* much, do you?

    That's awesome news - the DC-X showed immense promise - even surviving a mid-air explosion and managing to land (not crash) afterwards, IIRC.

    Who cares if Samsung's PRAM is in production - it's obsolete! I'll take nonexistent superior technology over available obsolete technology any day of the week. It's so much cheaper that way...
