The Impact of Music Downloads and P2P File-Sharing on the Purchase of Music: A Study for Industry Canada
Description: Industry Canada undertook a music file sharing study during 2006-07 to measure the extent to which music downloads over peer-to-peer file sharing networks, for which the sound recording industry receives no remuneration, affect music purchasing activity in Canada. The data used for this analysis are from a Decima Research survey conducted between April and June, 2006, on behalf of Industry Canada. The report, prepared by University of London researchers, Birgitte Andersen and Marion Frenz, found that music downloads have a positive effect on music purchases among Canadian downloaders but that there is no effect taken over the entire population aged 15 and over.
It is already well established that China will and are stealing any IP they can. This is simply another example. And Google are saying a simple thing to Acer: If you want to use our tech, for free, don't play these games with us.
Galaxy Nexus, bluetooth. What is described sounds exactly what I have mounted in my truck: A 2012 model JVC stereo/bluetooth DVD deck, and my Galaxy Nexus. All this discussion of docking is irrelevant. Use Bluetooth.
With very few people still living on farms it is now an anachronism.
Holidays are certainly needed, just not so long.
Perhaps a month off to allow people to vacation is a reasonable length.
We likely need to stagger those intervals of one month across the summer. Otherwise too many families will be competing for the same vacation resources.
Exacty. If that is not enough, buy a couple of those gel freezer packs and put them in the bottom, wrapped in some foil bubble wrap to slow the heat transfer a bit. That also helps avoid condensation.
IF the OS and patches on these is open source, AND the users are in control of installing these items and updates, AND the source is kept on a public repository, then there is a chance it could be legit.
This has been the typical "disaster" that has been suffered by EVERY company who have built a successful business model based on Windows: If it is profitable, then sooner, rather than later M$ WILL steal your business. Ask Lotus, Borland, Word Perfect, Netscape, Corel, and so on how it felt.
Unfortunately I see little different with the case in Win8 than in any of the predecessors. Steam are screwed.
Facebook - not saying this is a good solution, but it is common Google - Pretty good solution, especially if you turn on their two factor authentication.
It matters very little what you choose. If it is not an apple product, the teachers will complain. Their little souls have been bought and paid for by Apple a long time ago.
Seriously though, why not look at tablets? Especially ones with keyboards, such as the ASUS Transformers?
If nothing else it will be a lot harder for the little hackers to modify and mess up for you.
Ask the actuaries for the car insurance companies. It IS their job to "do the math".
And, they tell us that people under 25 get into far more accidents, and are far more careless. People over 45 are far more careful and get into fewer accidents.
This is not opinion or conjecture. It is statistics.
Agreed, and that is due to the fact that most international businesses and capital consider SA too risky. Look across the border due north to Rhodesia, ahem, I mean Zimbabwe. Look how well that worked out..
Ask anyone who is a resident or ex resident of S.Africa.. It is simply a matter of time until the place descends into chaos. And yes, i have lived there.

Hate to break it to you, but the valley is pretty much just sales offices for Chinese, Taiwanese and Korean companies now.
Why would the UK want to re-create that??
Yes, pretty likely OCD and schizophrenia.
You are right, but:
IF the OS and patches on these is open source, AND the users are in control of installing these items and updates, AND the source is kept on a public repository, then there is a chance it could be legit.
Agreed. So now M$ will simply install their own version of this, and make it much more easy / convenient to use.
Oh, is pricing an issue? No problem, just undercut and use the Windows/Office revenue to fund that "gift".

I wonder how much Apple had to pay them for this?
Seriously, if you think they are surrendering one of the crown jewels for free, you would be hopelessly naive.
Well, there is firephorm:

Are we so stupid that we do not see Microsoft and Apple spread rubbish like this to attack Google?
They like the old order where they were kings.
If you are concerned and worried about your privacy, start at home with your government.
In the old days of commerce by ships, they labelled this kind of behaviour as "Piracy on the high seas"
The punishment was generally hanging, I understand.
Doh!
China is spending to support R&D and the US is spending on war.
Let me know how that works out for you.
